There have been many posts over the years about what Pearl Jam song we would want played at our funeral.. well I found a collection of funeral songs on iTunes if anyone's interested.

Celebrate LIFE....
live life to the fullest..
I always liked Van Morrison's Moondance album to celebrate Sadness and grief with...The song, Caravan...
The words almost carry your soul into another dimension or you feel like you are bathing in some healing salts...It's a great song...
And the caravan is on it's way
I can hear the merry gypsies play
Mama mama look at Emma Rose
She's a-playin with the radio
La, la, la, la...
And the caravan has all my friends
It will stay with me until the end
Gypsy Robin, Sweet Emma Rose
Tell me everything I need to know
La, la, la...
Turn up your radio and let me hear the song
Switch on your electric light
Then we can get down to what is really wrong
I long to hold you tight so I can feel you
Sweet lady of the night I shall reveal you
Turn it up, turn it up, little bit higher radio
Turn it up, turn it up, so you know, radio
La, la, la, la...
And the caravan is painted red and white
That means ev'rybody's staying overnight
Barefoot gypsy player round the campfire sing and play
And a woman tells us of her ways
La, la, la, la...
Turn up your radio and let me hear the song
Switch on your electric light
Then we can get down to what is really wrong
I long to hold you tight so I can feel you
Sweet lady of the night I shall reveal you
Turn it up, turn it up, little bit higher, radio
Turn it up, that's enough, so you know it's got soul
Radio, radio turn it up, hum
La, la, la, la...
the other one,
Into the Mystic is one that seems to someone make me feel like my loved one's soul is being transferred from our Mother (earth) into the Cosmos....
The best advice I can give anyone, is that the feelings of greif come in waves and time does heal....peace...and Respectful concern...all insanity:
a derivitive of nature.
nature is god
god is love
love is light0 -
Obviously 'Long Road'. However I think if I died tonight I would want 'Light Years' to be played.
Abraham Lincoln once said, "If you are a racist, I will attack you with the North."0 -
I've always said Black, and recently comeback, forget this nonsense that a funeral should be a happy occasion and uplifting, I want mine to be as miserable as possible, for fuck sake I'll be dead0

A friend of mine & I have a pact that we will make sure that Light Years is played at the others' funeral...if we are the one who lives longest out of the 2 of us...

In My Life, the Beatles. I think narrowing it down to one PJ song would be too difficult, but now that I'm thinking about it...*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

*The process of grief is the depressing part...but once you truly realize that metamorphisis has occurred, you start opening your consciousness to yet another realm in life's journey... You know your loved one is at rest and doesn't have to deal with all this garbage that Earth travvellors experience...You loved ones are out there and that you have a Guardian Angel always with you. If you look at grief, it happens in every phase of our lives. Death really is life's beginning...The process, hurts like ten chingatumadres, but nevertheless, a part of life...
I think this is a great thread and submit high respect to all of you...all insanity:
a derivitive of nature.

I hope my kids look fondly enough upon me to play Man of the Hour at my funeral, though they will most likely use my corpse to re-enact the "Parrot Sketch".
Seriously though, I'd probably like to have either Low Light or Other Side played.- Justin
You think the Slayer tour is out, or what?
