In Boston.... Ice Hockey, Baseball and Basketball eventually one year college basketball.

MD/DC...Softball and traveled the east coast down to Florida to play. Played up 5 days a week on 5 different teams. Sort like a hired gun to play third or to pitch and anywhere on the infield. Some fast pitch softball too.

Retired due to a bad knee and foot. However like Lance I'm coming out of retirement next year to play in Florida.

Oh I almost forgot my High school champ in Boston at Cambridge/Ringe High in table tennis. Lots of Cycling too both mountain and road.

Way way too young back then to get into that stuff. Oh and I had a ton more fun playing street hockey than ice hockey. :)

There are a bunch of men's club leagues and I'd still be playing it if I didn't tear my ACL in my last game of college in my senior year.

I didn't play it until college and it was a great activity for guys who wanted to play a sport but weren't big enough for college football. Women's rugby is also really popular here. Two of my friends from college actually played for the US National Women's Team.

There are a few high schools that play rugby and its increasing in popularity.

Personally, I loved playing it more than football because big guys actually get to touch the ball and score.

I'll never forget scoring against Penn State in a monsoon when they were the number 2 team in the country. Of course we lost 41-14, but it was still a thrilling moment for me.

Yeah, it's sloooowwwly rising. Actually I think the Super League is going to start getting funding from the IRB and some investors, including Setanta, to try and get it some more television exposure in the states.. ALA the RSL championship on ESPN2 and a few matches on ESPN Classic. But it is getting bigger. There's some good leagues like the Super League and Division 1 club teams. If it wasn't for my 2 dislocated shoulders(that's what I believe it is), I'd be playing this season.

By the way, are you looking to play or something? Cause there's actually a bunch of teams you could hook up with in the northeast.

I've ran a couple of charity runs. I've done a half marathon and The Race For Life. The idea of running again interests me and I think it's a great idea... until I actually have to do it :o I need to get my fat ass in gear...

    me too!! QFT!!

I used to do a lot, mostly pick up, some organized - dragon boat, softball, swimming, roller blading, road hockey, volleyball etc. till a serious car accident a few yrs ago destroyed my shoulder. It's all fixed now, and is mostly better so I've been dragon boating this year which was a big test. Over the fall I'll get back to swimming and jogging. I have no choice - the fat ass thing is a little too close to home :(

Anyone here have a preference of running streets Vs track?
for some reason I much prefer jogging around a track than the neighbourhood - I think I was a hamster in a previous life ;)

chrome-theres plenty of roller rinks here in NY. I dont know what you guys have down there but I think we should organize it sometime maybe for March or something when its still kinda cold, not too hot, maybe a PJ show in the mix

time to bust out the sticks and skates fellas

been way too long for me!

Oh, I thought you played or something. But, yeah, you should try it out. All ya need to know is 1)tackle the guy with the ball & 2)if you receive the ball, run straight. The rest is all learned along the way.

When I ran in high school I much preferred running in the woods/on the street as opposed to running on the track....perhaps because the track made me feel like a hamster HAHA
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

Ah Aussie Rules isn't rugby ... it's just there to confuse ya :p ... there's two types of rugby ... union and league ... those that have played in the US presume you guys play union?
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Yeah, union. Not a big fan of league. And yeah, Aussie rules is just weird to me. They do have a team in Philly for that as well - been to a couple of their parties which were alright.

play in a beach volleyball league all summer too

love to play hockey and basketball still too but don't get to as much as i'd like

yeah, having played both i have to say lax is more exciting just because it is so fast paced and there is much more scoring, i've been losing a game by 5 goals with 5 minutes left and won, so its never over

not as many people play it just because its a little tricky to get used to throwing a ball with a stick as opposed to just hiting a ball with a stick
