I've ran a couple of charity runs. I've done a half marathon and The Race For Life. The idea of running again interests me and I think it's a great idea... until I actually have to do it :o I need to get my fat ass in gear...

    me too!! QFT!!

I used to do a lot, mostly pick up, some organized - dragon boat, softball, swimming, roller blading, road hockey, volleyball etc. till a serious car accident a few yrs ago destroyed my shoulder. It's all fixed now, and is mostly better so I've been dragon boating this year which was a big test. Over the fall I'll get back to swimming and jogging. I have no choice - the fat ass thing is a little too close to home :(

Anyone here have a preference of running streets Vs track?
for some reason I much prefer jogging around a track than the neighbourhood - I think I was a hamster in a previous life ;)

chrome-theres plenty of roller rinks here in NY. I dont know what you guys have down there but I think we should organize it sometime maybe for March or something when its still kinda cold, not too hot, maybe a PJ show in the mix

time to bust out the sticks and skates fellas

been way too long for me!

Oh, I thought you played or something. But, yeah, you should try it out. All ya need to know is 1)tackle the guy with the ball & 2)if you receive the ball, run straight. The rest is all learned along the way.

When I ran in high school I much preferred running in the woods/on the street as opposed to running on the track....perhaps because the track made me feel like a hamster HAHA

Ah Aussie Rules isn't rugby ... it's just there to confuse ya :p ... there's two types of rugby ... union and league ... those that have played in the US presume you guys play union?

Yeah, union. Not a big fan of league. And yeah, Aussie rules is just weird to me. They do have a team in Philly for that as well - been to a couple of their parties which were alright.

you name it, i've played it except baseball
"friends don't let friends play baseball" (a lacrosse saying)

soccer, hockey, basketball, lacrosse through school age (our school had no football if you can believe that)

    lacrosse in college

still play lax year round, on 2 teams during the summer, indoor in fall/winter, club team, travel tournament team, etc.

play in a beach volleyball league all summer too

love to play hockey and basketball still too but don't get to as much as i'd like
50+ shows and lost count somewhere along the way

yeah, having played both i have to say lax is more exciting just because it is so fast paced and there is much more scoring, i've been losing a game by 5 goals with 5 minutes left and won, so its never over

not as many people play it just because its a little tricky to get used to throwing a ball with a stick as opposed to just hiting a ball with a stick

well our leagues never played street hockey with the orange ball. They all had the black electrical tape. it was like shooting a puck which was better. I tried it with the ball and I hated it

We played with both the orange and yellow ball and man that ball would sting from wrist and slap shots. Burned tons of calories when I wasn't in net.

really?? It just always seemed weird to me. Coming from Ice and shooting a puck I just couldn't do it and then the leagues brought in the electric tape and that was all she wrote. Thru Queens, manhattan and brooklyn mostly all the leagues used that...even to this day some still do. Out in Long Island the Mylec ball kinda still stuck with the leagues

Played organized football from the age of 7-18. Also played basketball in high school. Trained for the past 3+ years in Muay Thai, Jui Jitsu and Hopkido but I don't think you can really consider that being on a sport since I didn't compete.

never used electrical tape for a puck but would drill a hole in an orange mylec puck and fill it with sand or bb's or whatever else and then reseal the hole... made for a great puck until the newer pucks with rollers came out.

the pucks with rollers werent too bad.
The tape was the best cause we used the wooden blades too. not the plastic mylec ones. Closest thing you could get to playing Ice. If we get a game someday I'll come thru with one show yall. You could get some serious shots off with the tape esp once it wore down after a few games.

Should have played basketball. Like you said, it's pretty much mandatory to get high before playing, no matter what level...

Boarding is a ton of fun. Broke a couple of ribs on my first run of the season two years ago. I still got up and made it to the bottom, which was ten times more painful than the actual wreck. I wasn't about to be helped off the hill. You can still feel the ribs out of place through my skin. Ahhhh, good times.

I put the hockey balancing skills to the test and by the end of the night I was flying by all of those fucks coming real close and freaking them out coming up to the cabin at the end of the mountain and spraying everyone with snow like
