    Ugh, he was ours until the player's union rejected the deal. It's probably the only time I've ever liked Donald Fehr.

    Though the A-Rod deal would have been interesting if it went through. Texas would have gotten Manny and Lester. Chicago would have gotten Nomar and the Red Sox would have gotten A Rod and Magglio Ordonez.

    I don't know who the Yankee 3rd baseman would have been. Aaron Boone got hurt right before spring training so the Yanks were trying to trade for a 3rd baseman.

    Lowell was still with the Marlins and didn't get traded for another 2 years.

    Ventura was with the Dodgers and hit .240 in 2004 before retiring.

    if the Yankees get too disenchanted with him ... they'll do what the Sox have done with guys like Rentaria and Manny ... trade him AND pick up a good portion of the cost ... fuck, I hate when they do that.
