How far do you travel to work???

I have a job interview tomorrow thats 29 miles from my home. My current job is only one mile away. I live in the city.
I have no desire to leave the city. I freaking love it here!.. The job however is a much greater opportunity if I were to get it, but part of me wants to stay at my current shitty job because of location.
I guess its a win/loose situation... 29 miles against the flow of traffic can't be that bad can it? I used to travel 24 miles to work.
***UPDATE***
Well, it looks like I got the job, which is awesome! I hung out with my friend tonight, who conveniently is my new boss and gave me the news..
I just drove back from his place which is right by the new job. Without traffic and me driving 5 over the speed limit it takes exactly 35 minutes to go the 29 miles, which isn't bad at all and hopefully will stay that way with me driving the opposite way of rush hour.
I think I might take the chance and renew my lease in the city. It's been too much fun here. Would probably be worth the headache of traffic..

Thats a pretty light commute for long islanders into Manhattan. And at least you got reverse commute. You'd be crazy to pass it up.BORGATA>VIC0 -
According to Google maps, I live about 4 miles from where I work/school.
EDIT: Does the Metra go there? At least it's not driving.16

32 miles round trip and i have to pass the Vice President's Naval Observatory home twice. It get's when he's on the road clogging up traffic with his 21-22 car motorcade. Which takes about 1:45 mins round trip

Against traffic, it will be about a 45 minute commute.. I should have probably posted this after I know they want me or not.. my best friend would be my manager, but he's not interviewing me. I guess my chances are pretty good. I just want to be prepared.0 -

I say move if you can.
It's true that 45 min each way is becoming the norm, but I think that kind of a commute will eventually take its toll on your personality. Every day you'll be showing up to work feeling like, "Fuck I hate traffic." That's just hard.
My commute is 7 miles to the office, but I sometimes have to travel an hour or so to visit clients, but that's OK because I get reimbursed for that shit.0 -

I guess it might be worth it knowing my commute sucks, but I get to go home to an awesome city.
If it ends up being a Mon. through Friday job, It may be worth it to be in the city on weekends.0 -
With gas prices these days and with the extra wear and tear on your vehicle, you might not see much of that extra $3K/yr in the end. If prospects are high for eventual promotion, then I can see it being worth it I guess. That is if you are truly without other options.0
