  • Well, it looks like I got the job, which is awesome! I hung out with my friend tonight, who conveniently is my new boss and gave me the news..

I just drove back from his place which is right by the new job. Without traffic and me driving 5 over the speed limit it takes exactly 35 minutes to go the 29 miles, which isn't bad at all and hopefully will stay that way with me driving the opposite way of rush hour.

I think I might take the chance and renew my lease in the city. It's been too much fun here. Would probably be worth the headache of traffic..

My commute is about 20 minutes, maybe 5-7 miles. Lots of stoplights, or it would only be about 12 minutes.

    Thanks!

As long as the commute is less than an hour, I will be ok with it.. Chicago winters though are not mercyful.

See those are the responses I'm looking for. I need to think I would have it easy, because I really do not want to move. ;)

Nah, the city will close down if it's gets a centimeter of snow. You'll also realize that for someone reason people in the NW can't drive in the rain

  • Here's my new thought, I'm going to commute from the city, but live with a roommate... save $200 to $300 a month with roommate, and drive the 35 min to maybe hour drive.. the roommate will give me a valid savings excuse to commute from the city..
  • I have a job interview tomorrow thats 29 miles from my home. My current job is only one mile away. I live in the city.

I have no desire to leave the city. I freaking love it here!.. The job however is a much greater opportunity if I were to get it, but part of me wants to stay at my current shitty job because of location.

I guess its a win/loose situation... 29 miles against the flow of traffic can't be that bad can it? I used to travel 24 miles to work.

Well, not to work, but I travel an hour and a half each way to Uni..... in bad traffic, which is most evenings, it takes me two and a half hours to get home. God, I cant WAIT to finish my degree!
