Can't we all just get along and talk about some lululemon?

GraySaturday wrote:I'm not above target by any means. I have on work out pants I bought from target. Nothing like buying 4 pairs of pants for less then the price of one. I totally get that. These were pants that I told myself if I reached a certain thing, I could get them. It helps to have a motivator. Some people motivate themselves by saying, I can have a big ice cream sundae, or I can have a dinner out or such, but when the goal is weightloss, I am motivated to show off my hard work, so a pair of flattering pants seemed to motivate me.
as well it should!! go get your tush pants!! : )Peace, Love.

hello........
is it me you're looking for?

I think Gray just enjoys spirited debate just as much as the next Jammer. She is a uniquely assertive personality amongst her AET peergroup. After all, how many women have the stomach for duking it out with a car salesman for 7 hours? Not many. It's nothing personal. She's just doing a little bit of target practice, which is totally healthy.0

You know, when you're above 200lbs and you've lived that life of wishing you were a skinny girl that looked good, its hard not to want to buy a great pair of pants. I've struggled my entire life with weight. My husband fully supports me if I want to buy a pair of pants. I don't tell him a 100 something dollar sweater at j.crew is stupid and pointless if he thinks he looks good and wants to buy it. Sure, they sell sweaters at target, but everyone likes to have something nice here and there. I also don't have to approve purchases, or beg my husband to buy me things. I have a job, I contribute half of our income. I don't spend my money on some things that other people do, like going out to bars, and clubs and dinner. So all in all a pair of pants isn't a bank breaker.0 -

Do you think it's a stupid and pointless decision for your husband to buy a $100 J Crew sweater? You personally would rather he wear a Target sweater?0 -

Um, no? Didn't I just say that I don't tell him that?
Anyways.. this isn't about that. And I don't want to get thrown off for derailing my own thread.0 -
Back to Lululemon..
I think I like these pants:

I like the color. Seems everyone wears black, these are a little different from everyone else.0 -

You say you don't tell him that, but it sounds like that's because you respect his buying decisions more than you appreciate the way a $100 makes him look.
What I'm getting at is that your husband clearly appreciates your tush without tush modifying clothing. Therefore, the need for tush modifying clothing becomes vague.
However, if you appreciate your husband's, say, pecks underneath a $100 sweater, then the purchase is not vaguely justifiable. Rather, it is a marriage enhancer on top of a peck enhancer.
He may or may not know where you stand in terms of whether you appreciate his pecks in Target sweaters or in J Crew sweaters, and so I suspect that's why he continues to make these purchases.
Also, I don't feel that it is totally off-topic because we're talking about bodypart glorification through the use of expensive, flattering clothing.0 -

Mmm, I like those. Chocolate brown is one of my favorite colors, so I can't argue with that color!
Josh asked me if it was a japanese company because it sounded like a little japanese cartoon character.. haha0 -

All I have to say is the best marriage enhancer is to support things that makes your spouse happy. If Josh feels confident in something, whatever it may be, then I feel good supporting him in his choice to buy it because I know he'll feel good about himself in it. We work well together because we seem to share that outlook. Just like a gym membership in its self. I guess someone could say that I am spoiled for having a membership to a nice gym when I could go outside and walk and run and whatnot. To each his own.0 -

Yet it sounds as though he is not supporting of your lulu pants. Have you confronted him about it with the views you are now asserting?0 -

He has never been into a lululemon. Neither have I. He has little knowledge as to how much they cost. He knows they are pricey, my boss told me her pants were like 90 dollars. I told him that. He made the comment about the headband. Neither one of us know how expensive a headband is. I mearly said, oh, these headbands are cute, and he looked up from mario kart and said "can't you get a headband at target, whats the difference". To which I answered, I have no idea what the difference is, probably nothing. Which is the truth. But when I did tell him I set a goal and when I reached it I was gonna buy the pants, he said "don't wear yourself out trying to get to the goal, you've come a long way, maybe you should get them soon"0 -
