I don't like this thread.
Won't be revisiting!!!!!!
I don't like the idea that your child and my grandchildren are being pawns at someone else's gain...I don't like that freedom of choice is being diminished as we speak...
but guess, what...this board makes a difference...and even reading what may not seem pleasant is part of a positive measure...
in darkness, there is light...
scb: not if you fortify your children with nutrients and proper nutrition that sustains healthy bodies...think about what you are feeding your children tooo...if you give them a healthy and balance diet, chances are their bodies will fight off any virus that decides to visit...
pepsi, and energy drinks are not natural...neither is kool-aid...remember jim jones???? (metaphor)all insanity:

Kel Varnsen wrote:Don't you already have to have a ton of vaccinations before most schools will let you enter kindergarten (polio and that sort of thing)? Why would a flu vaccine be any different. Plus PJ_Gurl is right, you have a choice, give your kid the shot, or find another place to send them to school, or home school them.
bull-fucking-shit!!!!! this is America and we have this thing called the forth amendment and no bureaucrats are forcing any thing on my child.
people are so mis-informed when it comes to vaccines!!
vaccines have a preservative called Thimerosal that contains MERCURY!! FUCKING MERCURY!!! do you know what mercury does to the brain & nervous system??!! you think it's a coincidence that Autism has sky rocketed since they started using Thimerosal?? yeah i know..tests are inconclusive and show that it's not Thimerosal.Till you look further and the the studies are done by the same company that makes the fucking vaccines in the first place!!
how dumb are some of you to swallow that bull shit??
i love how these clown act like they are so progressive because they are pro vaccine and anyone who is against vaccines is either an uneducated buffoon or a religious zealot when it is in fact they who are the uneducated buffoons who tread the line of zealousness.0 -
It's simply about kids not missing school and the school system losing funds over attendance.the Minions0

Not to mention teachers keeping teachers healthy since they have to work with a bunch of walking germ factories every day.0 -

But do you not realize the bureaucrats, already tell you what to do. Most school districts require you to have a bunch of other vaccines like polio before you can start kindergarten. How is adding a flu shot any different than those?0 -
we can expect a wide spread influenza epidemic within the next couple of years that will impact a lot of people ...0

This is mandating that small babies get the flu shot.
Many think there are links between mercury in shots... and just too many shots in general at such a young age... and the RADICALLY HIGH numbers of children being diagnosed with autism and other sensory integration disorders.
It's just another thing they are saying you MUST put into your child at a VERY young age. Let's face it. Many don't have the option of NOT having their babies in day care centers...
They will give your kid like 3 or 4 or more vaccainations at one time. Kinda crazy (for example... measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox) ) all at one visit on the child's 1 year exam. Throw in a flu shot now too... why not?
These things can wreak a lot of havoc on such a tiny little body! :eek:0 -
Immune systems take time to develop. IMO too much too soon. But what the fuck do I know?the Minions0

This is my question exactly. Still hasn't been answered though...0 -

Because... for one... it is further adding to the list of BS they tell you that you MUST do.... and secondly... all the other vaccinations are now thimerosol free. The flu vaccination isn't. It contains thimeresol which is about 50% mercury. AND... (i think) they are saying all children 6 months and up! That's just crazy.
Is that answering any of your question, my friend??0 -
Flu is spread most readily by children. It also hits them more than it does adults and kills them disproportionately more. To me, the flu shot is a no brainer. You care about your kids or your elderly parents and you don't want the family to be deathly sick with the flu and then complications for weeks? Get a flu shot. I remember having the flu repeatedly when I was a kid and my father almost dying, literally, from the complications of pneumonia. I also remember my last bout of flu about 14 years ago. I got it about one week after a flu shot (so it couldn't have been the flu shot). I began to have flu symptoms that then disappeared entirely within three days and were very mild--a low grade fever and body aches. I remember the last flu before that one, some 10 years prior to that. I couldn't get out of bed for over a week, had a fever of 103 degrees for days, wracking body aches, vomited my guts out repeatedly, etc., and then felt lousy for at least another week because of the toll the disease took on my body. Three easy days even when I did get the flu when not completely protected by immunity or two solid weeks + of misery? It's a no brainer. Unless you actually truly allergic to the ingredients in a flu shot, I think you are taking unnecessary risks with your health and the health of those you love if you don't get the shot.
Btw, I teach. I get a flu shot every year. During the time I've been teaching, I haven't had the flu once. My vaccinated students make it through school missing a couple of days for colds or other short-term mild illnesses. My unvaccinated kids, another story. They are typically out up to two weeks, sometimes not because they are still sick, but because a parent is now too sick with the flu to get them to school. That's a lot of learning missed that is quite often never really made up.
Your kids are your kids, so I definitely believe you should make whatever you think the best decision. After my daughter got the flu, she has asked to have flu shots every year. And she's gotten them.0 -

Maybe...0 -
scb wrote:Yeah, I understand that argument about all the shots. But people aren't protesting mandatory shots as a whole, right? Aren't they just protesting this shot? That's what I don't understand.
Some shots are good like anyother item...There's a purpose for their existence...
Polio, Diptheria, Tetnus, Small Pox etc. saved many lives....but a line should be drawn...
oops the batch was bad...great way to eliminate population....all insanity:

Ditto. I have also never had a flu shot and have never had the flu. A couple of years ago at my old job they were giving shots and everyone thought I was crazy for not going. Well guess what, I was the only one that didn't get sick.0 -
Pj_Gurl wrote:You people do realize that the general cough and cold and runny nose that you get that makes you feel unwell for a few days a year is not the flu right.
i realize that. i never said my co-worker had a cold. every year, he gets the flu. do you think i'm making it out to be more than it is?"Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

because there are exemption forms for those shots but they are trying to do away with the exemption and make it mandatory!! no one is forcing that mercury laden poison shit on me or my child without my consent!!
it is also unconstitutional!!
but you're Canadian so you wouldn't know nothing about that!0 -

Pj_Gurl wrote:I'm saying, people talk about having the 'flu'. The flu is not the common cold that makes you feel really unwell for a few days. Some of the strains of the flu kill you.
9 times out of ten the flu shot you receive isn't even the strain that is going around and independent studies suggest that anyone who has had 10 or more flu shots increases their chances of Alzheimer's by tenfold!
mercury is not good for you...now repeat that 100x or until it sinks in.
mercury is not good for you
mercury is not good for you
mercury is not good for you
Thimerosal is bad for you0
