i believe the "shrine" was printed in time magazine.

Do you have a date when this was printed, when this appeared? A rough estimate will do.
    THANK YOU, LOSTDAWG!

Right on. Good for him. I guess he's not a total asshole.

my first sentence was i'm NOT defending him so i can only assume you have trouble reading.
I read your first sentence. Now read the post without it. After all, anyone can say something....

Time allows you to search their archives all the way back to 1923. I tried "kerry shrine north vietnam" and got nothing. Maybe you'll have better luck:

Ted, some of your music is decent at best (in my opinion).
Ted, alot or most of your music sucks smaller dicks than you do (in my opinion).

anyways, i dont see a double standard at all. Telling someone to "suck" on a machine gun doesnt mean "im going to kill you". It may imply that theyd be happier if you were dead- but in no way does it say "I am going to end your life."

specific death threats are a far different thing.

so true. it's the symbolism of the machine gun and the subserviency of getting on their knees to suck it that is the message. ted directed the comment to an intelligent person who would recognise the symbolism and take the insult as it was meant. obvously; not everyone can understand that. it's really no different than the average joe saying suck on this. because it's teddy; people have to make a big deal out of it. there's no such thing as bad publicity. it gets people talking. look at how long this thread has been in the top ten.

Can I blame this on chemo-brain?

Uh-oh, I feel the urge coming on, I think I'm gonna do it again .........

john kerry; because of his father; has pulled more strings for himself than any single person in history. kerry was considered a traitor by many when he met with the enemy in france to facilitate americas conditional surrender to the north vietnamese. this after he threw his purple heart over the whitehouse fence during an anti war march. he did it on news camera and it was broadcast nationwide; because of who his father was. by facilitating that surrender; every person that was killed during that war; died in vain. people were forever injured for no reason what so ever. this is why most vets don't like kerry.

as to the [what i call] shrine; i; and many others, posted the link during the elections. it was discovered by accident when a news crew photographed the officials in front of a wall dedicated to their war heros. the picture was printed in time magazine and someone recognised kerry. that should give you enough to research it on your own. i already posted the link once; i'm not responsable for your memory.

Wow, I don't even remember that one. Gonna have to go search for that, I don't remember EVER being proved wrong by you.

My main memories of you are your incessant errant claims about the constitution.

And asking you to back up your claims with evidence is not "dogging."

EDIT: Was that the one where you told everyone that polygamy was perfectly legal in Utah, until I directed you to the Utah Attorney General's website which clearly states that polygamy is illegal? Hoo boy, you sure had me there!

let me help you. i never said polygamy was legal anywhere. that was someone else.
i argued that polygamists were wanting equal rights, if gays were allowed to marry. you fought tooth and nail so i posted 3 links; one being a news story from the N. Y. times which went on to say some hbo series about a poligamist threesome opened the door to polygamy and basically proved my point. i them PMed the link to you. it was the only PM i've ever sent you.
    does that help your memory?
  • I think the double standerd came when Teddy boy was on Hannity and Colmes with Ann Coulter complaining about Zach De La Rocha rant at Coachella. Zach's rant was a metaphor for how it is up to us people to rise up and say we don't want this bs anymore, but they only focused on the part where he said the entire administration should be tried hung and shot.
Ted, Ann, and especially Hannity thought this was absurd and that the band should be investigated by the secret service. Ted says something just as bad (imo it was way worse bc of the prop involved) and it's ok bc Hannity likes Nugent. Don't get me started on the whole Dixie Chicks crusade that Fox News went off on a few years back.

Personally I feel both Zach and Ted have the right to spread there beliefs from stage just like Eddie, Bono, The Dixie Chicks etc do bc of the First Amendment. I just wish Conservatives would stop being hypocrites. This is the main reason I will NEVER vote Republican to be president. I can't support the party of hypocrites.

I agree that is extremely hypocritical. Some conservatives are. Some liberals are as well.

This post almost seems out of place in this thread that is complaining about Ted Nugent and his logic on a Pearl Jam message board. I guess it's only out of place though in a world free from hypocrisy.

first; "the people" don't know half of the story when it comes to iraq. they only assume. there are countless files that only a few people have seen so the people cannot make an intelligent decision like that unless they're privy to all the secret government documents. which; of course; nobody is.

the media only reported what the dixie chicks' fans did. i don't recall the media confiscating CDs to burn.

if the band should be investigated then most posters here should also be investigated. many remarks here are treasonist but we; as ted; are protected by the first amendment.
i'm sure you don't like his opinion; but be assured he doesn't like yours. the difference is that he's not bashing you on a world wide message board.

The Media didn't confiscate the CD's but FOX especially O'Rielly and Hannity were all over the Chicks for there comments. They created the uproar that lead to simpletons burning music they previously liked. I don't thinks Zach or Ted should be investigated. If you had read my post I said they all have the right to say there minds but then shouldn't speak out against others when they do the same thing. A great poet once wrote if you hate something don't you do it to.

(edit: I think anyone who burns music, books, etc bc of something the artist says is dumb. They are not simpletons bc of there politcal stance.)
(edit #2: I don't think I've been bashing him that bad. If you look at most of my posts I am just pointing out his hypocracy in regards to his draft dodging and his appearances on Fox News. Personally I think Hannity is way worse for sticking up for him and laughing when he was so against the Dixie Chicks and RATM.)

once again; it's symbolism and expression of opinion. when someone burns a flag; they're only burning a piece of cloth. it's the symbolism that makes the effect. the burning of the CDs WAS A POLITICAL STANCE. THOSE WHO BURNED THEIR cdS WERE SAYING "WE LOVE OUR PRESIDENT AND WON'T LET YOU BASH HIM".

And it is my right to think that is f*&%ing stupid. If you like a song you like the song. Why take away something you enjoy because you disagree with there political views.

And what she said was we are dissapointed our president was from Texas.
Umm big friggin deal. No machinie guns in the air, no foul language.

Explain how this is worse then what Ted did becasue your post makes it seem like you agree with what happened to the Dixie Chicks.

God these posts make me seem like a big Chicks fan, but I only know that Earl song and some other one about running away or something.

i tried to get my daughter to burn her dixie chicks CDs. it sent a message loud and clear and made national media coverage. how many times have you heard DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS?

i'm not comparing ted with anyone. it would've been cool if teddy had loaded the machine guns with blanks and rolled off 60 or 90 rounds. hell; other bands use explosives in their acts. it would've been great theatrics.
when it comes down to it; his fans come to the shows to see the wildman put on a show. his stage persona is that of a wildman. kiss fans expect the make up. and so it goes.

i'm losing signal to storms here so i'll talk to you later.
    cheers

what a joke... oh no... someone said an off-the-cuff, comment about being embarrassed to be from the same state as the president... let's burn all of their cd's and tell our children to burn all theirs! A family that hates together, stays together!
