Is this true about Jehova (aka God)?

"Between 500 and 150 BC, the priestly aristocracy ordered its scribes to re-write Palestinian history, pretending that they didn't reinvent Jehovah, to make believe that God the almighty had always existed as a monotheistic entity. The scribes inserted the presence of Jehovah into every past natural disaster, wars, famines, into the life of every past king and queen in Palestine and beyond. The creative collective works of the Jerusalem scribes became known in Europe as the 'Old Testament.' "

This is the first time I've ever heard of this. Has anyone been taught this before? Are there any sources available to confirm this?

    I've never been taught this or learned this, or in fact ever even heard of it. But then again, you don't know my credibility anymore than you do where you heard that.

    Jehova is an incorrect spelling of "Yahweh," for starters. The Jews did not use vowels I think and that's why there was a misunderstanding.

    I have never heard of that or been taught that. I would be interested in seeing the source.

    I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was puzzled about that bit of information.

    This is kind of what I expected. He's obviously not knowledgable enough to give you a little off the top of his head. He could've told you his opinion on some things at least briefly based on what he knows, but he offered you nothing except for a few books which, for all intents and purposes, he probably just Googled. He's passing the buck to other scholars because he knows he isn't one.

    It's just weird for this guy to offer a long list of books and then say 'Happy reading!' without even a hint of a morsel of an opinion on what he's obviously knowledgable about. I myself could've compiled such a list. It implies that in researching this article, this was the first and only time he'll ever have read these books - and then he probably only skim-read them in order to pick out bits which affirm his anti-religious prejudices.
