We're 6 years removed from that day, and there have been countless threads like these posted from time to time. Alex could have done a search and found one. I think we should stay up to speed. Roland's post is the topic at hand.

My story is very similar. Alarm at 6am PDT. Jumped in the shower. Went downstairs and put a pot of coffee on. Turned on the news. I couldn't believe my eyes. Everyone in the office was late getting in, and half the office went home by mid-day to call relatives and make sure friends and family in the NYC / DC areas were safe.

Surreal was the word for it.

His post was about 9/11, at least...so it is partially on topic...which more than we can say for a good percentage of the posts here.

We've had countless threads on many topics over the years, and yet we're still here. I don't think there have been countless "where were you / what were you doing on 9/11" lately. If so, please link me to them. I do know that there have been countless 9/11 conspiracy theory topics, though.

So while the 9/11 truth topics may be the "topic at hand" for you, this particular thread is not that. Wake up.

I don't post in the 9/11 "truth" or "conspiracy theory" topics anymore. I said my peace long ago, and for me it simply isn't worth debating. I was only offering my opinion about your post in the same way gue was. I am not the posting police. I never asked nor told you not to post. I simply made the observation that your post was off-topic, which it clearly was. But if you feel the need to interject Alex's opinions in every topic whether or not they are warranted, have at it my dear friend! Enjoy yourself, by all means. That's what we're here for.

Your perception is not my perception, but I don't try to tell you what to do.

Don't try to tell me what I can do, should or shouldn't do, in this situation because it won't fly at all. It's about 9/11, realize that if anything.

You can try to powder up your intentions all you want or try to be impartial and unassuming about the actual topic, but I can see right through it.

Maybe you didn't take the time to read before you reacted (blindly) but the guy's name is Barrie not Alex. Your mistake obviously.

I was in my bed sleeping. i was working a 12hr night shift then...had no clue, went into work, a little late, went down to my where my friend worked...he was talking to someone so i just sat down and they were saying things like they couldn't believe it....the place had been getting ready to lay off some ppl and before that they fire ppl first to avoid severance pay...i thought someone had gotten fired and i thought it odd they took it so seriously...i made a comment like it wasn't any big deal....then they told me what happened and went to cnn's website....such a strong unpleasant feeling and sadness....

It is. Anybody can input what they want about it. Nobody should be posting down another person's viewpoint on it, and that's what you're doing. At 6 fucking years, the spectrum of 9/11 and all it encompasses goes much further than those rememberences we have of what we were doing that day, and posts should be included to reflect that.

For the record, i just picked up my daughter from school, and while we were walking down the street i overheard two shopkeepers talking and hear them say "Now they have done it, its out off control, now its is payback time, they are not going to get away with this"
I thought they were talking about the Israel/palestina conflict, and that there had been a giant suicide attack or something....man was i wrong...had to explain my 4 year old daughter what was going on...

I was listening to Stern and heard about the accident. Then I went to the caf at work and watched the live feed until it hit the street. Then I had a super night without any air traffic flying over the house. It was a nice, quiet time to reflect on how the world got so fucked up and enjoy some drinks.
