WTF?
are you supporting McCain or just being a fat assed Troll?
...or are you living in some fantasy land where Nader, Paul, or whoever are viable candidates.
What are your solutions?
All I read here is pissing and moaning and no real intelligence beyond the given circumstances.
The guy that said he was going to start destroying the interstates has at least fronted a better solution than any of you.

Agreed.
I'm really losing a lot of respect for people here who used to post informative and well sourced political arguments, because they seem to be turning to the very types of propaganda that they would otherwise deride. I'm certainly not believing that Obama is some great option, but I think some people need to look at the reality here.
I'm all for posts in support of alternate candidates and ways of drumming up support, but some of the boderline racist, hateful things I've seen here have really depressed me. Surely the left is above that...My Pearl Jam Photos

Why do they have to be "viable"? Why can't their virtues be an example for the "viable" but unprincipled candidates to use as examples? I don't support McCain or Obama. I'll be writing in my choice. Sorry if principle and conscience get in the way of trying to pick the winner correctly. Since I support neither McCain nor Obama, why would have have me vote for one of them?"I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

Yes Bingo. Can't handle it now....can you imagine when he becomes president?
Ouch...psychiatric ward or what?

Based on what? I'm not even an Obama supporter, but it's like this place has gone totally mad. It's embarrassing.
The US is in a bad way... the reality come November is Obama or McCain. Now, everyone can be as up in arms as they want about this, but it does not change the reality. No way will enough voters in the US even consider voting for a third party candidate. Yes, that sucks, but that is still the truth. My Pearl Jam Photos

So people have to like it and just pretend...as sickening as it has all become?

No, be as idealistic as you want, but be aware of the reality and ffs don't lower yourself to propaganda levels. What point would that serve other than to make oneself look foolish and just possibly racist? My Pearl Jam Photos

based on the premise that someone feels this thread is necessary and that you have started to lose respect for those who you used to ...
your particular truth is what makes the shitty aspect of this election continue
the only reality that is of any concern is whether you feel there is actual democracy in the states or not ...0 -

And I think a lot of people are aware of the reality that the two-party system is pretty much broken right now. Both sides are bought and paid for... so people look elsewhere for a solution.Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -

I'll think about that when the government is screwing me over next.....right about 1 second ago, and a few seconds from now...and a few more seconds later after that...and so on...etc..
Maybe I'll keep pretending it isn;t happening, cross my fingers really hard and scream HOPE at the top of my lungs while bowing to a picture of Obama.
who knows...it could work....

It's funny, when it comes to "Obama bashing" as you people call it, it's just usually people disagreeing and debating his policies.
When it comes to Nader, however, it's just people saying stupid things like "he'll never become president, not even of his knitting club" and "Nader is just an old idiot" or some other stupid shit.0 -

well said...
While I can be lumped into the Obama supporter category, I support anyone voting for whomever they'd like...be it the Great Pumpkin, Barr, Nader, and so on...
I do find it interesting that many of the threads about Obama are personal attacks vs. content...
I'm looking for some feedback in this thread...

It's not about what you in the minority feel, I agree with what you're saying, but you know damn well that 2008 will not be a miracle year, which means the people of the US will vote for more of the same, one way or another.
It's lovely to dream that every US citizen will suddenly wake up and vote out the 2 party system, but just be aware of the fact it's a dream and no more.
For any 3rd party candidate to have a chance, there will have to be a real movement that finds ways to gather interest and headlines without having the ridiculous amounts of funds that the Reps & Dems have to their disposal. And that certainly is not going to happen in 2008. Nader throwing his hat in 10 months before the election is not the way to do it.
Any third party candidate who wants a chance to crack this open needs to start now. For 2012.
Going on about how awful Obama is, whether true or not matters none at all. I'd never say to vote for someone you don't believe in. But come Novembers about 250 million Americans will.My Pearl Jam Photos

No.....
but you're not bashing McCain as much as you are bashing Obama (if you are bashing McCain at all)..... are you supporting McCain?
If not then I'm just trying to understand why you think Obama is such a serious threat it causes all of you bashers countless hours of trolling here on this forum
.......otherwise you are just preaching to your choir of cronies here because all the bashing of Obama has no credibility if you don't back it up with solutions...you might as well go post in the hot pics of Ed thread because it's the same 8 or so people that keep rehashing the same bullshit....
nobody wants to argue with you anymore because you are boring as shit, it's become so redundant....
What about McCain's 2 million "reach around" from the oil companies?
What about the book that came out this week stating Bush and the CIA forged documents?
Why aren't these topics like these being discussed here like in the past?
It's the same 8 people that all they want to do is continue to bash Obama
Why?
Is he that big of threat?
Talk about something else for a CHANGEthe Minions0 -

Agreed but how else will people realize something is up unless people speak out about it?
If the politically casual are continually pacified, and nobody speaks out, nothing is accomplished in my books. Something has to be shaken up. McCain winning might shake some people up, Obama having a large contingency of disgruntled voters could shake some people up. Just playing along is a bad idea in my book regardless.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
