Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

That would excuse assaulting a woman in your view?

what assault?, he only pushed her out of the way, because he needed to run away. she tried to stop him by standing in front of him or trying to hold him, what was he supposed to do say "oh, excuse me, madam can you please give me a way"

Learn the legal definition of assault, then come back.

Also, you have no problem with a guy shoving a woman around, as long as he doesn't hit her?

    Huh?

Just trying to figure out what relevance your comment had. What did hunger have to do with the situation?

there is me agruing on other threads about locking people up.....

but here i see a person, who might not even need to be locked up, especially not for fucking 15 years!

i know he is a repeated offender, but look at his crimes they are all petty crimes and some drug dealing. this person can be sorted out, and his attitued can be changed.....with good down to earth methods that is ;)

A donut is food...he was probably just hungry (obviously).

I agree that 15 years is excessive. I also believe that he should get jail time for being a repeat offender and committing an assault. The length of incarceration would be the point of debate for me.

oh, don't worry i knew that to push someone is already an assualt.

    but i think in this situation it's no biggie. of course i don't like wife-beaters! i like wife-shovers :D
  • he wont get 30 years. he wont get 15. he might get 30 days. its just a shock tactic to get you to read the rest of the article.

He did assault the woman though and should be punished for that (i guess. doesn't really say if he just brushed her or knocked her down, either way its legally assault and battery). If I try to stop you from stealing my shit and you hit me, thats assault.

I'm with you on this one...Let's say he stole a gun and ran out the store...I'd be willing to bet those focusing on the object he stole would think differently...

I'm thinking he probably didn't have $, was hungry, and wasn't thinking the world would stop over a 52 cent donut.
