The good news is he was never going to get the psychopath, gun nut, religious nut vote...0

I live in the midwest and am pretty bitter about the past 2 administrations. One a special interest driven corrupt war monger, the other an impeached get his cock sucked on our tax dollar liar.
I have not taken to the gun or religion though....I've surrendered to the power of the PJ
I wish this election would be over already, there has been more bullshit already and we are not even to October0 -
You have to have an IQ of less than 50 to think what he said was an insult.Turn this anger into

you would have to have less than 30 to think it wasn't0

oh, gimme a fucking BREAK! like what he said wasn't at least a little bit TRUE?? this "outrage" over his comments is just more bullshit, which is what most americans seem to prefer for breakfast, lunch and dinner. god forbid someone says anything of substance and ruffles people's feathers. yep, much better to pander and ass-kiss.
and clinton is just an opportunistic, bitter bitch anymore. i have ZERO respect for her. she needs to get beaten by obama badly, then she can go whine to her stupid husband (whom i USED TO admire) and leave the rest of us out of it."Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, Barack Obama."

Religion & guns were our 2 biggest issues 240 years ago.0

once again proof (some) americans have no stomach for honesty.
repubs would rather be paid lip service up front and deal with the knife sticking in their backs later.0 -
yeah, its just painfully silly.Turn this anger into

I kind of think Obama's statement does show a hint of non-belief or at least religious ambivalence but I never thought Hillary would be the God and guns candidate. That's pretty funny.0

BINGO!The less you know, the more you believe.0 -
Maybe the problem was that as Obama was speaking he was distracted by the sniper fire in Bosnia, bringing peace to Northern Ireland, solving the Macedonian refugee crisis, opposing NAFTA, leading the UN Conference on Women, and not knowing that Marc Penn was working for Colombia. It could happen to anyone.
But seriously, the "Politics as usual" strikes again. They take a snippet out of an entire speech and post just the allegedly condemning words or sound bite. Americans with short attentions spans won't mind. The politics and press of Reagan, Bush, Sr., Atwater, Clinton, Carville, W, Rove, Hillary, Fox, CNN and the internet wantabes plus the mainstream IQ siphons continue to play Americans for being a fool. Obama's campaign of change speaks for the end of this insult to America's intelligence and the end of 30 years of "Politics as usual.W. I would feel a lot more comfortable with that statement if Obama said he didn't believe in God or supported gay marriage. He still is playing politics as usual.0 -

It wasn't a little bit true, it was VERY true. Poor people who have had their jobs shipped overseas to never return ARE angry and bitter. Why wouldn't they be? To suggest they aren't or shouldn't be is absurd. People of faith DO turn to God when times are rough. People DO look for people to blame and develop anti-immigrant sentiments. Its just flat out true. God forbid someone point it out so we can address it."When all your friends and sedatives mean well but make it worse... better find yourself a place to level out."0 -

I've weighed in on this topic on other boards...and after reading the first page of this thread, I was starting to think that all Pearl Jam fans are idiots.
Thank you cornnifer for proving me wong....good post.I'm trying to drink away the part of the day I cannot sleep away...0 -

Oh, the irony. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

I thought he insulted religious people more than people from the midwest and PA. In fact, those comments of his were so ignorant that I actually believe that he mis-spoke and doesn't really believe them.
After all, it is pretty ignorant to assume that people turn to religion just because they are frustrated with the government. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.0 -
I gotta admit I like how Obama said that Clinton is now "running around talking like she's Annie Oakley." That's some good stuff, right there!Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0
-
Kudos to Obama for actually apologizing for using the wrong choice of words. How refreshing!
