Both sides do it. I just think it's disingenuous to suggest it's only coming from one side.
Ok.. first of all the things you are citing as spread by Obama have spread over the internet and media reports.. not Obama.. in what speech or ad has one of those been mentioned?
Now on to your examples..
*She did in fact fire the man who was over her ex-brother in law.. there is an open investigation on that one. He was fired because he reused to fire ex brother in law.
*She most certainly INQUIRED about books that she wanted banned.. sorry even the McCain campaign can't deny it. She also threatened the librarian with her dismissal when she would not back down. After many people backed the librarian she was the one who backed down.
*I have no idea what she charged the state of Alaska and really do not care...
*Where exactly are you getting this info on her sex ed plan? Sources? From what I understand she is an adamantly abstinence only kind of thinker.
The rest of your facts.. sources would be real great because I think you are just pulling them out of your ass, sorry to say. She is on video saying the Iraq war is god's plan.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He said what has the Obama campaign put out because you said Obama (and his campaign) has said these things about her, quite simply I ask you to prove it. Where has the Obama campaign said she banned books? This is like saying the McCain campaign has directly accused Obama of being a Muslim. Although it's slimy, I cannot hold McCain accountable for the viral musings of some conservatives; how do you hold Obama accountable for freaky left-wingers?....I'll address the few of these things that are untrue, primarily the task that is from God.
First of all, regarding Palin saying that the Iraq war was a mission from God. I believe this is the full quote; ""Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."
"A task that is from God." How is that not saying it is a mission from God? I don't understand how this could be spun.
Also, sleightofjeff, read this article if you get a chance: http://www.slate.com/id/2199923/ There is a difference between the radicals of the spectrum get all riled up and when a presidential campaign lies spectacularly and outright. How do you explain the lies of the McCain campaign documented in that article, and show me the same blatant lies on the Obama campaign? You can't, because this time there aren't two sides to this coin. The problem is that, as always, McCain will get away with it, because there's so much traffic and information on the Internet, who's to say what's the truth and what's a lie? (even though there are many things that are true and are lies).slightofjeff wrote:She pressed to have a state trooper fired just because he was divorcing Palin's sister. This is a very desperate and contradictory move on Obama's part and could signal the end of his campaign. The guy who claimed he would "change the tone" in this election is now doing the same thing every other politician does. His house of cards is falling down. What do McCain's computer skills have to do with anything?
This isn't some BS 527 ad either this is a "I'm Barack Hussein Obama and I approve this message" ad.So this life is sacrifice...

this is so much bullshit and you know it. it IS only coming from one side. because of all those things you listed, how many have been mentioned in ads put out by obama? compare that to how long it took mccain to create and run an ad about the whole lipstick nonsense?
mccain is getting nasty. obama finally popped one back, and a mild one in comparison. the fact is that so far, obama's campaign has been pretty clean and mccain has been hitting below the belt regularly. and i'd be willing to admit if this wasn't the case. hell, i've been calling for obama to get nasty for a little while now because he's going to lose if he doesn't.and like that... he's gone.0 -

In all honesty it depends what you do for a living. I have friends that don't have computers, don't touch them and couldn't tell you anything about them. Hell some of them don't have cell phones. They are my age ranging from 30-39 ( I am 34). Some of them have kids and they only use school computers. So baically what I am saying not everyone needs to use or have computers.
However, McCain should be able to do something on a computer and I am sure he does basic things. But then again, that is what his staff is for. Good to know that he won't be surfing the net for porn when he is in the White House.Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

You know why McCain can't use a computer? Because he was beaten mercilessly by the Viet Cong and can't lift his arms.

Jesus, you'd think if Obama's people were so computer-savvy, they would learn how to work Google. This is going to make them look pretty bad, I think, basically making fun of a crippled war vet.
Next, Joe Biden will go around telling guys in wheelchairs they need to stand up. Oh wait, that already happened, too ...
Anyway, as I've mentioned elsewhere, this election is still Obama's to lose. He just seems to be going out of his way to lose it.

This from an article in Forbes magazine from May of 2000:In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits.
So, not only can the Obama ad be construed as mean-spirited, it also happens to be an out-and-out lie ...everybody wants the most they can possibly get

I'll tackle this one:*Where exactly are you getting this info on her sex ed plan? Sources? From what I understand she is an adamantly abstinence only kind of thinker.
How about a direct fucking quote from the 2006 Alaska gubernatorial debates:
"I'm pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I am not anti-contraception. But, yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don't have a problem with that," Palin said.
Elsewhere during the same debate, she said teaching high schoolers about condom use was "relatively benign" and she would not oppose it.
And yet ... she's been painted as some "abstinence-only" whack job ... How?The rest of your facts.. sources would be real great because I think you are just pulling them out of your ass, sorry to say. She is on video saying the Iraq war is god's plan.
I'd like to see this video. The video I saw had her praying that the president was leading our troops into a task that is from God, not saying with 100 percent certainty that the Iraq war was a task that is from God.
There's a huge, huge difference. As one pundit put it, it's not Republican hubris, it's Christian humility. Huge difference.
No different than Barack Obama praying: "Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."
If you really want to read more about how Palin's words and records have been distorted, here's a commentary piece from CNN.com:

I guess you believe none of these things were done without Obama's tacit approval? You think none of this stuff was churned up by the 30 lawyers, muckrackers and private investigators his team sent to Alaska the day she was nominated?
As we learned from the Swift Boaters in 2004, just because it is not your candidate actually saying these things doesn't mean your candidate doesn't quietly approve.

Dude, nobody has ever claimed his arms must remain stationary at his side at all times. But even Obama knows McCain can't lift his arms past his shoulders.
His condition makes it difficult for him to use a computer keyboard for any extended length of time. That has been documented -- and I've provided the documentation on this thread.

but the point remains mccain has aggressively and personally released and "approved" a number of recklessly false smear ads. obama has not. hell, i've been hoping obama would, because as you pointed out, that swift boat stuff (launched by mccain's campaign manager, coincidence?) works. so obama finally got into the game with this lame computer thing (which i'm not buying as selling what you say it is, but we'll accept it for the sake of argument) and suddenly you're up in arms, after looking the other way for weeks while mccain played the slimiest politics i've ever seen.and like that... he's gone.0
