Crazy Breed is pretty much spot on.

And I don't vote because I don't care. It's my right NOT TO vote just as much as it is my right TO vote. So keep your open-minded "every vote counts" holier-than-thou attitudes to yourselves.

    Nice approach.

Got to love a country that votes more for an American Fucking Idol than it does for their President.

A Fucking nation of Flesh Blobs with nothing between the ears..

It's so easy to be "that guy" quote some fucking philosopher conspiracy theorist chump and stay idol.

Preaching to all of us "brainwashed masses" that our vote doesn't matter.

Yet all anyone has to do is actually do some research on the candidates.

But reasearch is just too much work these days days.

So much easier to be a pessimist. So much easier to sit on the fence and complain rather PROVIDE ANY FUCKING SOLUTIONS!!!

Do you know how many countries there are around this world that would DIE to have an opportunity to take part in the voting process?

Do you know how many Men and Women have actually DIED and SHED BLOOD to give you a I chance to vote?

And you dare piss that away.

You say the system is broke...Well why don't you provide some solutions.

But I guess that's too much work as well.

but as sad and negative as CRAZY BREEDS attitude is...its TRUE...hello? just look at the last two elections? who won? NOT FUCKING BUSH! who was put in office? FUCKING BUSH!

Whatever happend to WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION? "oh we dont talk about that anymore cause its not on CNN." Well, we went to war over them, everyone just forgets...

Whatever happened to Osama Bin Laden? "oh, we dont talk about him anymore cause fox news hasnt mentioned him in a while"

but your vote really doesnt mean anything....HASNT ANYONE HERE HEARD OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE? your vote doesnt matter...anyone go to history class in elementary school? or did we just forget that too?

You can all keep picking on CRAZY BREED but it makes you all seem even dumber. if this was TRULY a democratic nation BUSH wouldnt be in office, we wouldnt be in a meaningless war, we wouldnt have the highest incarceration rate on the planet...and we wouldnt be the laughing stock of the rest of the world!

we actually had it good with Clinton but we are so stupid we though it was bad...remember how we actually tried to get him impeached over having his pee pee sucked? WAKE UP AMERICA!

-Every recount held had Bush as the winner, where is the controversy?
-The WMDs that he used on his people that you don't think existed, were moved to Syria, maybe the liberal media didn't get that news to you?
-Bin Laden is most likely dead. If the US kills him, he becomes a martyr. If he lives, he is a hero. If he slowly disappears from our consciousness, then he becomes neither! I hope we never "find him" or hear from him again!
-Thank the heavens for the Electoral College, it kept Gore out of office! Now he has time to invent hoaxes like global warming... which you don't hear about anymore! You think things are bad now, it would be much worse with Democrats in control! Look what happened to gas prices over the last 2 years with Democrats in control of congress!
-That meaningless war has liberated a country from a dictator, and kept the terrorist from attacking us. If Bush wouldn't have acted, you would be on here now blaming him for new terrorist attacks brought on by him not acting!
-Or not, because you don't seem to understand that Clinton's inaction led to many terrorist attacks, ultimately 9-11. But hey, things were good because Al Gore invented the internet and Bill Clinton was solely responsible for the Tech Boom! I see you are not too good with history, politics, or just facts in general! Clinton WAS impeached, and it was because he lied under oath.
-This is not a Democratic nation; we are a Representative Republic.... If you can't get that part right, what makes you think you are informed on current politics?

the solution is first to help people pull their heads out of their asses and stop listening to CNN.NBC,CBS,MSNBC and all the swill merchants and start realizing they are being lied to,manipulated and controlled.Once that happens and only when that happens we can then work on a solution(you can't put the cart before the horse)

SO what the fuck ARE YOU DOING to make this a better planet??!!..oh you voted so your job is done right.

I guess that's the attitude that leads us to have to chose between two assholes who will grow the government and continue to chip away at our liberties.

I'm not trying to bash Crazy Breed, or anyone else who has an opinion on the matter. So, lets assume for a minute that the elections are a charade, that our votes are meaningless, and that a "leader" has already been chosen for us by the higher ups. Assuming all that, it brings certain questions to mind:

How does staying home, and not voting help to end the charade?

Why do the candidates, who would seem more politically-aware than most of us, go through so much time, money, and grief to obtain worthless votes?

If the higher ups are in complete control, why did the 2000 election between Bush and Gore take so long to "resolve"?

If the higher ups have an unabashed final say, why do mud-slingling and smear tactics occur in most elections? Don't those types of things tend to finger the corporate masters?

No sir, I just can't buy it. I'm not saying that elections, campaigns, and politics in general are free of corruption. What I am saying, is that exercising your voice is one of the best, and most important forms of activism. For any activist, I can't see why avoiding the polls would be a no-brainer.

voting is now irrelevant thanks to Diebold, our TOTALLY corrupt system and our lying thieving so called "leaders".

so have fun partaking in the illusion today.
oh yeah...i did vote..just not for either of the two douche-bags(mostly because of the STATE issues that were on the ballot, not so much for the Pres.)

Another question, if voting is an "irrelevant" "illusion", why would you do it?
  • Crazy Breed...

I have a generally open mind, but it is just as ignorant of you to call those that don't share your beliefs ignorant. If you truely want to open up people's minds to information then share the information. All you have done thus far is stated an opinion and as of now it is unsubstantiated.

I don't want to get into arguing semantics, and there is obvious corruption and scandal in the world, but the image you portray on here is counter productive to your self proclaimed goal.

Again, I'm not bashing anybody or their views or opinions, but when you take an extremist viewpoint, and don't substantiate it with anything other than calling people who question you ignorant, you seem like you're on LSD. No offense though.

Maybe you are right. If we, open minded individuals, had something more than opinion and more along the lines of unbiased facts, maybe we could make our own informed opinions.

If you post something along those lines intelligently and people brush you away without a thought, then you can feel free to call them ignorant. If they come up with intelligent counter points and are not convinced and you brush them off without a thought, that too is ignorant.

Just a little rant. Intelligent discussion is always a good thing.

    Okay Let's keep score here.

    1)You don't vote
    2)Don't participate in the system
    3)You don't have any solutions.

    Great Action there Activist!!!

Let's wait around until the minds of the people are emancipated?

Sorry...but I'm not waiting for anybody to get there shit together.

I'm doing it on my own. Making sure that progressive leaders are elected to the State and Local Level.

Building 3rd Party Representation from the ground up.

I've even become involved in my own community by getting on Public Boards to keep my local politicians in check and get my foot in the door so that if no one else is gonna make CHANGE; then maybe I'll do it myself.
and you say REVOLT like it's not an option or something we should entertain..maybe you should go read the declaration of independence again..i posted it a page or so back

So how are you honoring the FREEDOM, INDEPENDENCE, and COUNTRY which THAT REVOLT awarded you?

    NOT VOTING??
    NOT PARTICIPATING??

    I got this theory.

    1)You gain The King's Trust
2)You get invited to The King's Party
3)You wait until The King's guard is down
4)You sneak up behind The King and slit his throat.

You DON'T head over to the castle with a bunch of Villagers with torches and try to burn down the kingdom.

You've got to play the game in order to bring about CHANGE.

    Work it in your favor

Elect at the State and Local Level...The progressive leaders you seek.

    I'm glad you voted.
Yet in a thread that was obviously started to celebrate the process of voting in this country. You come on here and preach about how pointless it is.

And how we should inform ourselves before we vote. Blindly assuming that your are the only one that is informed because you decided to vote for Nader or Paul or a 3rd Party Candidate for Prez.
so you're saying education is not a solution?that's how we got in this mess to begin with! because we are a nation of dumbed-down idiots who know more about sports and American Idol than they do about how their government operates.!!!

Where did I say education wasn't a solution? I just said I'm not going to wait around for everyone to catch up.

Is Reading Comprehension a road block for you?

    it doesn't work like that..this isn't the 1700's anymore.!!!

FACT: There are more independent 3rd party candidates on ballot this year at the State and Local level then at any other time in United States History.

    I'd say it's working.
  • Around 60% of the eligible population voted in the 2004 election, up from around 55% in 2000. Thoughts are of a 5-10% increase this year.
  • the problem is no one wants to accept anything as fact unless CNN(or any of the other military industrial complex controlled stations) tells them it's fact.how do you escape the brain washing if you are seeking truth from the brain washers?

It doesn't hurt to try. I don't watch the news much, especially being from Canada. But just as CNN/MSNBC/FOX etc are biased and have their own agenda, so do others. It doesn't do any good to ignore CNN because they are biased and only get your information from some other source. More than likely the truth lies in the gray area in the middle. I try to take in all I can from books and other sources, paying attention to others opinions and corroborating it with my own. That is what having an open mind is about.

I'm trying not to get into my own personal beliefs here, but I will get into it more if asked. Before I do that though, crazy breed, could you give a more concise rundown of what your point was at the beginning? Do you think that the government is controlled by a central figure/group or something along those lines, or do you think the election was rigged by Bush et. al, or just in conspiracies in general. I'm trying to get a feel for how far reaching you think the corruption goes.
