If you watch the "About Barack" video on BarackObama.com, if you go to the 4:25 mark of the video every shot until the DNC speech was organized by me. I supplied the extras, picked the locations, and worked with the Senator while he was there.

    Not a chance he is going down, not a chance at all. Once people see him speak or meet him it's like heroin. If he gets around like he should he will win. It's either him or Edwards. Clinton a distant third

    The only problem is that us intelligent folks don't care how he speaks. We look at his voting record.

    Look man, sometimes the country just needs a leader, and after the past 8 years that is what we need. Is his voting record perfect? No. No one from either party can come out clean while being in Congress.

    Warner is former Virginia Governor Mark Warner. His name was thrown around for quite some time as a possible Democratic Presidential candidate. Here is why I think he would be a good VP candidate: He left office (in Virginia, the ultra Red state) with an 80% approval rating, he is more moderate than Obama, and could attract a strong southern vote.

    The country just needs a leader? The country always just has a leader. I don't care about his voting record being perfect. That statement doesn't even make sense. He votes along the lines of Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and the rest of the far left. The country will realize that soon enough. The left enjoys having these folks being their spokesmen. As for President, not a chance.

    We need a leader that can bring the country back together, someone everyone can believe in. We don't have that now. I didn't know I would have to spell it out for you.

    You know, I agree with you. I was apprehensive about Obama, so I looked at his voting record. Now I know I'll vote for him.

    But i thought he didn't have one? I can' figure out how political critics have it both ways... one republican strategist is on TV saying how he has the most liberal rating and voting record blah blah blah, and then the next rep guy says that we have no idea what he stands for. how can it be both?

    The republicans did it constantly to kerry... he would give an hour long speech on what he was going to do on an issue, then all night the talking points would be that he has no plan on that issue.

    And do you honestly think that 95% of the people who vote have any idea (except from commercial sound bites) have any idea what a candidate's voting record is?

    That's by far a better assessment than ledvedderman's. If he believes in what you believe, great. But atleast know what he stands for. Voting for someone simply because he speaks well and looks pretty is insane.

    Because 95% of the voters are ignorant doesn't make it OK. I don't care what the "experts" on TV say. That's my opinion. Voting because of looks and speach is silly. Voting because you know where a candidate stands on issues is mere sanity.

    i've said it here before and i guess i'll repeat it. i'm in my mid thirties and havn't voted for anything since about 19. i'm registered independent or non partisan, but i will be reregistering democrat so i can vote for Obama in a primary. i'm strongly considering looking for a way to volunteer some time to helping with a campaign here locally if i can.

    That's not MY position you bumbling bloke, I've known Obama before Obama was the "next big thing". I know his voting record, not only that I know his voting record in the Illinois Senate.

    All I am saying is that he gives people hope and feel like they can believe in this ship that is America. He gives them the feeling the ship ISN'T sinking, and that's a very powerful feeling to put in voters.

    I for one don't believe the ship is sinking. So why should I vote for Obama?
