When you live you life being as fake as you can be, I don't trust anything you do.

Ask yourself, for Jesse Jackson...if there were no cameras or witnesses...do you really think he would have been crying?

I guess I shouldn't have said majority of tears, so I'll retract. But certainly some tears are for posturing purposes only.

I keep going back and forth...I think it's great that a black man has become president (even though he's a Dem)...I think it says a lot. But I also don't like the thought that I'm even thinking abou this...his race shoudln't matter at all.

Here's to a future where we stop talking about a candidates race, gender, religion, etc.

I think the tears were true ... this is a man that was there when MLK Jr was shot ... let's not forget that.

This is also a man who called New York City "himey town", let's not forget that.

You know, it wouldn't be an issue or topic if we would have just done this a long time ago. At least the dems had actually viable candidate for a woman and a black man, unlike the absolute joke that the republicans chose as their grossly under qualified VP in Gov. Palin, to clearly only pander to the Clinton supporters. That was a joke! The dems came out of this with a zillion times more class and tact than the conservative right did. The right doesn't have a leg to stand on now.

Yeah, I have never been a big fan of Jesse Jackson, but in no way did I feel his tears were fake and I do absolutely beleive that if there were no cameras on him, he still would have been in tear. I think you are underestimating the joy that an actual viable black president-elect can and has brought to the African-American community. And there is no reason we who are not African-American can not and should not appreciate that and embrace their joy and accomplishment.

I noticed it immediately. Speaks volumes about the difference between the majority of the candidates' supporters. When McCain mentioned Obama after losing his people booed multiple times. I did like what McCain said and I wish he would have acted like that during the campaign, he probably would have done better.

He;s incredibly intelligent. He surrounds himself with folks who are incredibly smart. He asks the tough questions and seeks to find out the right answers. He is steady handed and trustworthy of making worldly decisions. He doesn't work on the fear factor in in getting the people to side with him. And most of all, I find him incredibly honest.

But most important, the people of the United States of America have spoken LOUDLY in feeling their confidence in him.

While on the other hand, Sarah Palin has clearly shown the entire world how "not ready" she is to be the President of the United States. He inability to think on her feet. How clearly before her being tapped she had never once even thought about the VP slot, or the presidency. She has clearly not been on the national path to the white house an had been forced completely fake it on the campaign trail and repeat talking points that she memorized instead of actually being able to speak from her own thoughts.

Yes, Biden is almost as tenured as McCain, which is good. I would feel confident if Obama died an Joe Biden took over. I would have been scared shitless if McCain died (being 72 years old that was a real possibility) and Palin ended up being president. I would rather GW serve another term than Palin being the president.

Obama's our next president, we should all hope he does well. To answer your questions...

Obama served in the state legislature LONGER than Palin served as a governor. He was also a professor of constitutional law something very relevant to the presidency. If we had a president who actually knew and followed the constitution the last 8 years, maybe it wouldn't have been disobeyed and manipulated the way it was. Throw in that he ran one of the most successful campaigns in U.S. history and he's very qualified. If your of the belief that experience equates to being a good president read this:

Biden is the VICE-Pres not the president so change is still possible. Change doesn't mean Washington outsider. It means the change of the current policies that have put us where we are with so many problems. It's gonna happen.
