Settle petal. You are blind if you think that Palin was the only one who should get a formal letter of apology.
Did you notice that during McCains speech, he mentioned obama, and his supporters booed? McCain asked them to stop. Obama didn't have to ask his supporters to stop. They never started.
Of course you didn't
Right on. McCain's folks booed like a bunch of sore losers, while Obama's folks clapped and recognized a valiant effort from their opponent....CLASS!
Right on. McCain's folks booed like a bunch of sore losers, while Obama's folks clapped and recognized a valiant effort from their opponent....CLASS!
Again...except for Philly fans apparently...most winners have that class...because they won. It's not necessarily because of who they are, it's because of the outcome.
If McCain ahd one, I'd be willing to bet big bucks that plenty of people in Chicago would have been booing.
I even ended up voting for Obama despite our differences...but I don't feel good about my vote at all really.
I think there are plenty of tears going around today...I'd also venture to guess that th emajority of the tears of joy are fake...like Jesse Jackson...staged tears. Pretty pathetic.
 OH MY GOD!!! I NEVER thought I'd see you vote Democrat! The posts I've seen from you have been very staunchly conservative. I'm proud of you for having the strength and courage to not base your vote on how you've historically voted and opened yourself up to change. I know you don't feel right...like you've somehow betrayed yourself...but please give it some time Cincy...keep your mind open and you might find that you feel differently in a year or so...at least I hope Obama does a good enough job for this to happen.

I noticed that and appreciated that. What I also noticed is that during Mccains speech, people were booing for Obama. Mccain gave a VERY respectful speech and I liked that alot, yet all his supporters could do was boo. Grow up and listen to him, even Mccain recognized that we need change and that we should just join sides and make peace.
 OH MY GOD!!! I NEVER thought I'd see you vote Democrat!
Neither did I. And yes, I don't feel very good about it for a lot of reasons, but the Republicans offered me little choice and the 3rd parties, while I considered 1, didn't do it for me either.
It's kinda weird to see all the happy people on TV...have the guy you voted for win...and still feel so worried about it all.
My 8 year old son commented on that while watching the speeches.. because he was so shocked when the McCain crowd booed the mention of Obama.
Dramatically shows the respect level on both sides.
I hope you corrected your son and didn't buy into the BS...if McCain had won, people would have not only booed McCain's name in Chicago, they just might have burnt the place ot the ground.
It's kind of sad that the real John McCain didn't come out until last night.
I had a thought cross my mind last night as I was watching McCain's speech and it may fall a bit into the wacky conspiracy category. I was think that maybe the GOP used McCain. The party leaders really didn't want this onetime Maverick to win the presidency. they used him as a vehicle to get their new rising star, Sarah Palin, more national exposure for a presidential run in 2012. Like I said the thought just crossed my mind for a second but it definitely made me wonder.

did you vote for Obama and then, hours later, think to yourself, "Fuck, he won Ohio???"
I know I was shocked. That was the state that clinched it ... maybe it was Cincy's vote that put Obama over the top!!!!
It's all CINCY'S FAULT!!!!!

Oh my gawd, you can't be serious. I would venture to guess that you don't have a clue as to what you are guessing on. Fake tears - give me a fucking break. You are extremely delusional and indicative of the hate and distrust most have for the conservative right at this time. It is time for a change - either join in or step aside and watch it go by.

Can't blame me...I've been living in Iowa for 2 years now. Although, I did actually Caucus for Obama here, and Iowa started it all, so maybe you can blame me.
seriously, if they were 'testing the waters'...i hope this election proved these are most unfriendly waters for a candidate such as palin!
she appeals to the christian right....she's not that bright...she's personable....she's gwb in a skirt....if in 4 years obama hasn't saved the world, karl rove will get her elected....the electorate's memory is short....i hope to hell i'm wrong but right now this is what i'm thinking

Nice.
When you live you life being as fake as you can be, I don't trust anything you do.
Ask yourself, for Jesse Jackson...if there were no cameras or witnesses...do you really think he would have been crying?
I guess I shouldn't have said majority of tears, so I'll retract. But certainly some tears are for posturing purposes only.
I keep going back and forth...I think it's great that a black man has become president (even though he's a Dem)...I think it says a lot. But I also don't like the thought that I'm even thinking abou this...his race shoudln't matter at all.
Here's to a future where we stop talking about a candidates race, gender, religion, etc.

A little bit earlier this evening, i received an extroadinarily gracious call from Senator McCain.......
and the obama supporters cheered. not booed. cheered. I was extremely proud to see that.
They were cheering the fact that McCain was conceding. There was plenty of booing when they were showing McCain earlier though.

You know, it wouldn't be an issue or topic if we would have just done this a long time ago. At least the dems had actually viable candidate for a woman and a black man, unlike the absolute joke that the republicans chose as their grossly under qualified VP in Gov. Palin, to clearly only pander to the Clinton supporters. That was a joke! The dems came out of this with a zillion times more class and tact than the conservative right did. The right doesn't have a leg to stand on now.
Yeah, I have never been a big fan of Jesse Jackson, but in no way did I feel his tears were fake and I do absolutely beleive that if there were no cameras on him, he still would have been in tear. I think you are underestimating the joy that an actual viable black president-elect can and has brought to the African-American community. And there is no reason we who are not African-American can not and should not appreciate that and embrace their joy and accomplishment.
unlike the absolute joke that the republicans chose as their grossly under qualified VP in Gov. Palin, to clearly only pander to the Clinton supporters.
and how exactly is Obama qualified again?
and is Biden change? 30 years in washington, more than McCain?
people voted more for the history aspect than what any substance this guy had, which is NONE
I call bullshit on that or we wold have voted Jesse Jackson in a long time ago. President-Elect Barack Obama was the right choice at this time for this country - regardless of the color of his skin.

i dont care about the color of the man..
i asked you how was he qualified? Palin had more experience to be president and there is no way she should be
so once again...how is HE qualified
"whats best for the country" of "making history" is the worse thing to respond with because then people didnt vote for a president they voted to be in the history books
A little bit earlier this evening, i received an extroadinarily gracious call from Senator McCain.......

I noticed it immediately. Speaks volumes about the difference between the majority of the candidates' supporters. When McCain mentioned Obama after losing his people booed multiple times. I did like what McCain said and I wish he would have acted like that during the campaign, he probably would have done better.

Sure you can...look at their record...Jesse is as fake as they come.
On MSNBC, their first picture of him, he had no tears and was literally squinting his eyes as if he were trying to make himself cry. When he finally did muster up a few tears, he made no effort to wipe them away as he had cameras all in his face capturing "the moment".
"Worse than traitors in arms are the men who pretend loyalty to the flag, feast and fatten on the misfortunes of the nation while patriotic blood is crimsoning the plains." -- Abraham Lincoln
and is Biden change? 30 years in washington, more than McCain?
He;s incredibly intelligent. He surrounds himself with folks who are incredibly smart. He asks the tough questions and seeks to find out the right answers. He is steady handed and trustworthy of making worldly decisions. He doesn't work on the fear factor in in getting the people to side with him. And most of all, I find him incredibly honest.
But most important, the people of the United States of America have spoken LOUDLY in feeling their confidence in him.
While on the other hand, Sarah Palin has clearly shown the entire world how "not ready" she is to be the President of the United States. He inability to think on her feet. How clearly before her being tapped she had never once even thought about the VP slot, or the presidency. She has clearly not been on the national path to the white house an had been forced completely fake it on the campaign trail and repeat talking points that she memorized instead of actually being able to speak from her own thoughts.
Yes, Biden is almost as tenured as McCain, which is good. I would feel confident if Obama died an Joe Biden took over. I would have been scared shitless if McCain died (being 72 years old that was a real possibility) and Palin ended up being president. I would rather GW serve another term than Palin being the president.
and how exactly is Obama qualified again? and is Biden change? 30 years in washington, more than McCain?
Obama's our next president, we should all hope he does well. To answer your questions...
Obama served in the state legislature LONGER than Palin served as a governor. He was also a professor of constitutional law something very relevant to the presidency. If we had a president who actually knew and followed the constitution the last 8 years, maybe it wouldn't have been disobeyed and manipulated the way it was. Throw in that he ran one of the most successful campaigns in U.S. history and he's very qualified. If your of the belief that experience equates to being a good president read this:
Biden is the VICE-Pres not the president so change is still possible. Change doesn't mean Washington outsider. It means the change of the current policies that have put us where we are with so many problems. It's gonna happen.
