I agree, but the party is in big trouble anyway, and Obama is just as guilty for the bickering-its coming from both sides.
Do you think the country is ready for a black or a female president?
They are not IMHO, and putting them up as our two best options does not bode well for the party.0

Bill is the man, and Id love to have him back in the white house-even if it was just to chase interns and serve southern food. Y'all is being a bit self-righteous here.
Then you deserve what you get. But, alas, hilary stands no shot in the general election. At least your words serve to expose the average hillary clinton voter. They are not voting for hillary. They are voting for bill. Personally, i can't tell where one stops and the other begins. They're both dispicable."When all your friends and sedatives mean well but make it worse... better find yourself a place to level out."0

Niether does obama. Do you really think our country will accept a black president? Perhaps im cynical, but I dont think either is electable.0

You think the republicans are going to win this election? Give me a break...
And yes I fucking DO think this country is ready for and NEEDs a black president... we need something different. Again, i disagree. Barack Obama is a leader and uniter. He trancends race and the electorate (94% White in Iowa, 96% white in NH) seems to have shown that so far. He is not an abravisive, divisive "Black" candidate such as Al Sharpton or even Jesse Jackson. Factor in his overwhelming independant and even some crossover support and i think he wins. YOU may not be willing to accept a black president, and certain segments of the population may not be wiling to accept it, but i think enough of the population is ready.Get_Right wrote:Niether does obama. You might want to make a refundable reservation.
I think this country will not elect a black candidate.
I think a republician candidiate with a war background could sell this country on him being the "right guy to end this"-perhaps a POW who also gets sympathy votes. They will distance themselves from GW, and people will buy what they are selling.
I am very scared that the republicans will win. Once the ad campaigns get going, and its the trusted war vet against the inexperienced black man or the woman with the straying husband, I think the war vet wins. Perhaps thats cynical, but I fear its going that way.
Obama is saying a lot of the right things, and his passion is invigorating.
But people forget there is a huge difference between a having a good platform and winning an election. While our country has progressed, you cant deny that a lot of our population still holds antiquated opinions about race and gender. I fear that, along with trumpeting of a war hero, may spell trouble for the democrats.
FYI I sure as fuck aint no republican-Im trying to be objective here.0

I can accept a black president, and there is no need for you to make it personal. I would never vote republican so put that out of your head.
I believe you are wrong about the numbers. Enough of the population is not ready-IMHO-and it does not matter if its a radical candidate or not.
Cynical perhaps, but thats the way I see it.0

My conservative white Republican friend, who has never voted democrat in his life, is considering Obama.
He just sees nothing but extreme nut jobs on the Republican side. By process of elimination he really thinks, at a minimum, Obama can unite the people again.0

How about you help change things instead of being so fucking negative...
you saying "this country isnt ready" contributes to the problem.

I hear so many people say "we need something different". I hope you're voting for Obama for more than that reason.
Obama supporters keep acting as though they're the innocent bystanders in all of this; as though they never distort the truth. Really? Well I hope you tell Shirley Franklin to shut the fuck up too because I've yet to hear a greater distortion of truth than the one that came from her mouth on MLK day. If anything she owes Bill Clinton an apology for twisting his words around, implying that he said the US wasn't ready for a black president. What a joke.0

Trying to call it like I see it man, thats it.
And I do happen to support one of the democratic candidates, and I will vote.
Thats about all I have time for.
If anything, I have a negative opinion regarding the intelligence of the average american voter. I fear they will be swayed by the American pride BS that the republicans always throw at us. I dont like McCain, but you have to agree that CV will make for some nice, mushy commericals. Voters love that shit.0

How do you figure Bill receives all due credit for this? He didn't do fuck-all for the economy in the long term. How much has NAFTA benefitted everyday Americans? Not one fucking bit ~ in the long term it's sent American jobs overseas and benefitted corporate interests to where they could invest in countries with much smaller tax burdens. Perhaps if Bill would've had the foresight to put some language in NAFTA such as the recent Peruvian trade deal (environmental/ worker quality standards), jobs wouldn't be lost and big companies wouldn't have left.
Bill Clinton just happened to be the president during the tech boom, nothing more, nothing less.Trading magic for fact, no tradebacks... So this is what it's like to be an adult...0

I love how people will give Bill Clinton no credit for the booming economy in the 90's but are so quick to excuse Bushy for the current problems. I'd imagine these same people watch a whole lot of Fox News. It's really comical how they try to pin everything wrong on the Democrats. On the Daily Show yesterday they were showing how many of the Fox News talking heads were blaming the US economy woes on concerns that a Dem will be president. What utter bullshit!0

See my post a few spaces back... and I'm an independent liberal, by the way. Please cite what Bill Clinton did that was so positive for the American economy. Links, if you would. NAFTA fucked over a lot of American workers.
Let's consider what else transpired during his presidency:
We endured two terrorist attacks that went unsolved (Khobar Towers and the Cole bombing).
He didn't go after bin Laden beacuse he was mired in the Lewinsky scandal.
He denigrated the office of the presidency with his adultery, lied to the American people, ended up being one of the culprits who cost American taxpayers money (along with the hell-bent Republicans who despised him) and cost our country face. Think of how much differently it would've turned out had he simply been forthright and told the truth before rather than after. The finger-wagging episode while spouting "I did not have sex with that woman" in the faces of every American plugged into the television disgusts me to this day and I'm reminded of it every time he wags his dick-grabbers while campaigning for his bitch of a wife.
Research John Huang and other Chinese who had ties to Bill Clinton and eventually were busted for illegal campiagn contributions.
Check out the Mena connection while he was governor of Arkansas.
He basically was pushed by Hillary into nominating Janet Reno (also Chelsea's biological father) for AG at the behest of his wife; he also appointed another colleague (Webster Hubbell) of Hillary's from Rose Law Firm who got canned within a year and was subsequently indicted for crimes committed which includied stealing from his previous employer. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F06E5DB1330F935A35756C0A961958260
 Whitewater???
So please tell me, what did Bill Clinton do that was so good for America?Trading magic for fact, no tradebacks... So this is what it's like to be an adult...0
