Your claim thats organic farming is worse for the environment.

No conspiracy, just one low moral company do their best to claim complete monopoly of the worlds food supply in the name of the almighty dollar above all else.

You've got to learn to distinguish a shitty company and its practices from the raw technology. I won't argue that Monsanto is a bunch of sleazebags who have very shitty corporate practices. But that doesn't mean the science behind GMOs isn't sound, or safe.

All the GMO supporters understand that GMO farming is all based on a cheap and long term supply of oil? Right?

Dosn't mean the contrary either. Regardless.

Roundup ready....impervious to buckets upon buckets of toxic poison being dumped on them...to be eaten by human beings

    Exactly!

Really stupid to rely on a high tech oil econamy. It is just not sustainable.

People who actually farm GMOs can not eat the food they grow because it is too toxic. A fact that the USDA employee conventiantly left off.

Do you have any science to actually back that statement up, or are you just spouting nonsense?

Read my thread In Defense of Food.

You have facts that refute mine?

    How does that work, exactly???

The lettuce problem in Cali was determaind to have been caused by the run off from the farm next door.

And do you know what that runoff was? "Organic fertilizer", or to put it another way... manure.

Do you have any clue what so ever as to what the base ingredient is in inorganic pesticides and fertilizers?

The manure was from cows feed on pesticide laden food.

It doesn't matter what the cattle was fed. Pesticides DO NOT cause e. coli. Manure and fecal matter, on the other hand, DO.

Nitrogen. You're breathing it right now.

I think one of the questions we have to look at it why we are even in a position to need higher yields and whether we really need them in the first place?

Have you checked population growth, worldwide recently? And have you seen where those numbers are projected to go?

Have you also seen the statistics on the number of people employed in agriculture now as opposed to, say 1980.

    Do the math.

The population numbers will have to stabilize one way or the other, and food is going to be the great decider. Oil definitely isn't forever.

    The squeeze is on.

yes nitrogen is what you get but it is made from ammonia which comes from Natural Gas.

Pesticides are made with Chlorine which comes from oil.

  • Calling someone a MOFO and trying to cram poisens down our throats then saying peace?

Sounds like you do work for Monsonto or Dow?

wow dude lighten up. "mofo" is like saying "bro" or "kid"... no harm intended. Nobody is shoving poisons down your throat. GM foods have one protein exchanged from another plant or bacteria to the host plant through the process of hybridization. GM foods have been ingested for over 50 years now and no credible scientiest will tell you there is a link between GM foods and any disease. Organic farming is MORE harmful to the environment and there is no nutritional benefit in fact organics can HARM you more than genetically modified foods because they are fertilized with hundreds of lbs per acre of SHIT or HUMAN WASTE that gives you E Coli or floats down the river. BILLIONS of people would starve if all gm crops were switched to organics because of the huge yield loss that is ABSOLUTELY PROVEN, not in theory but in practice. I could go on and on about this but again... I've gotta go catch a flight to SF!!!

And I say "peace" because I am a big liberal fucking hippie... who happens to disagree with you all about this situation....
