I was about to post the exact same site, but you beat me to it.ledvedderman wrote:
jlew, according to On the Issues, he's a populist leaning liberal on the left side of moderate. From more than just his voting record, however, he earns the label "moderate" because of his willingness to work with those on the right for mutual gain.0 -

I don't disagree with that at all... unfortunately as our recent past indicate, voting is mostly about looks and charisma. I'm not saying it's right, but that's how it is today. My whole life

Actually, both sites list his voting record there, Mr. C. Dundee.ThumbingMyWay32 wrote:That's not a voting record.
This is a voting record.

I think when only 33% of the country approves of the job the President is doing, and when only 26% approve of the way his mess of a war is effecting our country, that leads me to believe the ship is sinking.0 -
Don't be too sure about that. Every opinion poll during the Reagan administration showed that the majority of the public disagreed with most of what Reagan was promoting, but they LOVED Ronnie.ThumbingMyWay32 wrote:The only problem is that us intelligent folks don't care how he speaks. We look at his voting record.
I'm pretty sure that if Obama wins, I won't have an "Obama-isms" calendar on my desk, and that's a step in the right direction

I like his stance on many issues, accept his policies on the economy and tax cuts. I disagree with him but, you're right, its time for change in this country. a breath of fresh air if you will. his inexperience bothers me however.
this was interesting...We must make sure that Iraq is stable having gone in there. (Oct 2004)
Bush is trying to do this same thing and being crucified for it.0 -

That's a broad statement, and there were significant disagreements over the "how." You also have to realize that was over two years ago. Though I still think it's a disagreement over the how, the overall outlook is a lot different now than it was two years ago.jlew24asu wrote:

I find that quite interesting, and would be interested in knowing why 3 months later he changed the vote. I DON'T think it's about being a Presidential candidate because 10 months ago, I can assure you he wasn't planning on running for President. I think the last round of stumping for other candidates across the country really made him think hard about it.0 -
I would love to know "how" Obama would accomplish this.RainDog wrote:That's a broad statement, and there were significant disagreements over the "how." All I want to do is kill too. I think those flying squirrels really need to go. They're number one on my list. Squirrels are not supposed to fly, so I am going to kill them all.0 -

I'm not entirely positive, but if I remember correctly the 2005 vote was to reauthorize the entire patriot act, and the 2006 vote was with some of the more controversial parts taken out.My whole life

Well... Yes. You just told everyone how close you are to the man and you have no idea how the guy votes. The Patriot Act wasn't exactly an obscure piece of legislation."Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive"
