Why can't people just be happy that PJ is touring and they are getting shows?

I got cautioned yesterday for using too much logic on these boards.

Apparently, some folks don't appreciate that.

Florida is the "dong" of the United States...but I will still rally and go West Palm, and rock out with KOL and PJ

Now if I had a choice, I would rather go to Red Rocks, Santa Barbara, or So Cal

Love So Cal better then So FL because So Cal has waves...but Fl is still a "dong" with too many old folks

First off, this is a terrible thread.

Second, the shows will sell out. THE GENERAL PUBLIC SALE HASN'T EVEN GONE ON YET PEOPLE. Jesus.

Third, why they chose Florida for the shows boggles my mind. Like I said before, any major southern city...Dallas, Houston, Austin, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, etc. would have sold out ten club tix much faster.

Obviously there will be many more 10club members in the northeast than the south.

Stop pitting region against region. It's pointless and just stirs shit up.

Let the south have their Pearl Jam. It's all about the music anyways.

    ^^What DD said!

PJ is touring. Let us all rejoice!

This Southerner is going to both Florida shows and to SC. Do people really think that just because the 10club tickets don't sell out that the arena is going to be half full?

Has anyone looked at the dates of past tours.. I count TWO WPB shows in 98 and 2000. I was at one of each and back then you could only by fan club tickets for 1 show the entire tour.

There are a lot of variables that affect ticket sales so this North v. South argument is beyond ridiculous.

As for the Seattle-area fans not bitching as much..I believe in 2006 there were TWO shows at the Gorge and a show in Portland. The closest show to Georgia that year was DC which is a 10 hour drive!

Thats what I can not comprehend. You would think the fucking Civil War just ended and for some reason the hatred seems to come from Northerners who for one reason or another have this feeling of hatred towards PJ fans in the South. Then people in the South get pissed off and they ask why are you getting mad.

I just don't get it. Pearl Jam is touring! We should all be happy!

If all the "southerners" wouldn't have caused such an uproar for the past few years, about playing the south it wouldn't be such a big deal. But with all these petitions, and bitching about how PJ doesn't like the south, and whatnot, it seems like they would have stepped it up when they actually had the chance, and they didn't.

The Seattle-area folks haven't complained anywhere near as much as the southerners have.

Well I would be willing to bet that all those people who were petitioning and "bitching" as you call it did buy tickets.

Dude, seriously been to most beaches in Fl...

Tampa does not have a beach unless you want to count Davis Island, Harbor Island or the Bay, Tampa's Beach is in Clearwater, which has no waves unless a tropic storm is coming...East coast of Fl same thing, Panhnandle as well, Gulf of Mexico not...Jacksonville has nice Brown water but no waves...Cocoa Beach is about it by the inlet...otherwise dont waste your time...

Trust me So Cal has the Waves So Fl has the old folks...Seinfeld's Parents..

Well it's kinda easy to understand from my angle having lived in both areas. PJ tickets are so hard to get here, and the southerners have been making waves for years on the board about getting shows. Then they get shows and dont even sell out the pre-sale.

For me an added thing is that the south actually hasnt ever gotten over the civil war. It's an accepted fact. That and the religous right used the south and it's new large population to dominate politics since 94. There is a natural animosity there. That's how I see it anyways.
