and wouldn't you know it, RN is the only one out there doing real work to help people. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

it shouldn't be about race or sex or anything other than who can do the job to the best of your ideals.

He could live within walking distance...or bike, no?
Look, I love to blame things on others as much as the rest of us, but the oil cost, etc is all of our faults and we have control...we just don't want to inconvience ourselves...me included.
Certainly, it could be better...we could actually have a few more refineries for one...hippiemom = goodness0 -

I opened this thread thinking it'd be about gas prices. I really almost couldn't bring myself to purchase gas this week (even though the tank was empty) because I was revolted by the price. I really resented being in a situation where I was forced to pay that!!
see, now i opened this thread thinking that maybe someone had decided that the bellyaching and whining about barack and his kooky pastors, his church attendance, his facial expressions, his name, his wife, his lapel pin (or lack thereof), his ears... wtfEVER, had become really, really tiresome. but, alas, it's just another bellyaching thread. so much for evolution, baby."Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, Barack Obama."

We should vote out all incumbents regardless of politics this fall as a message. If there's no real change before the next election, let's vote them all out again.
Of course, the reason that won't work is that none of us can agree on what that change should be even if all of us could agree that the government is essentially making no progress on anything other than wasting our tax dollars. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.0 -

I'll vote for whoever runs against McCain.
But yes, I'm fed up that I have to vote for the lesser of two evils.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -
The futility of battling the unwashed hordes is too depressing.
I’ll vote when I get my oligarchy.0 -

What would be the point of voting under an oligarchy? My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

I'll be voting no matter what but here's some open questions to those who are not going to vote:
Will you do something to make sure there is somebody worth voting for the next time?
Will you get into politics or become politically active yourself (message boards don't count) to bring about the change that you want?
Who is the type of person you would vote for? (Actual names or persona/policy types are fine)

You should always vote even in a situation where you have to pick the better of a few crappy canidates. I mean if you don't vote the issues you care about will never be on the table for politicians. I mean why do you think politicians always chase the senior vote and do things that old people like? It is becase OLD PEOPLE ALWAYS VOTE. If a canidate doesn't have old people on his side he will lose.0

i'll be fed up 4 years from now if the next administraion isn't as different from the Bush Administration as the Clinton (or Bush I or Reagan for that matter) one was, with a few exceptions. most here dont seem to think it was much a difference, but i disagree.0
