52 cents? He couldn't AFFORD 52 CENTS??
I'm going to say that's a bit outlandish.
The average begger can make 10 grand a year on a good street corner. He could have begged for 10 minutes outside the store and received enough for a coffee too.
You know as well as anyone here he's not getting 30 years, that's the maximum for this type of crime. That almost NEVER happens. Even with a public defender
He gets probation for being a dumbass and we go on our merry way. There are hundreds of ways hungry people can be fed legally if he was indeed hungry. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

yeah, and i bet it was one of those tasty, freshly baked doughnuts with strawberry filling inside. Of course this doughnut was screaming out to him "eat me, eat me!" , i mean come'on who can resist this temptation0 -

Hungry, huh...

Ever been in a lengthy situation here you had no money on you, and you're starving?
Try it sometime.
Let me know what you think about when you walk by a hotdog vendor, or a bakery.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I do agree that a donut is fattening, but for me, donuts are like Chinese food, after eating a donut, I'm hungry an hour later...0 -

It probably does make sense to cooperate with a robbery while working in a convenience store. That makes sense from a safety standpoint. But that doesn't excuse the criminal."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

i personally think shops in hot spot crime areas should have double doors, the ones that close behind him when he runs away and the others that close right in front of him. so he stays in one place.0 -

Wait, did you mean you wouldn't waste your time worrying about shoplifters at all? Sounds like you've never run a business or had to worry about the bottom line."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080
