Everyone here love No Code. Even if they say they don't, they're lying. Everyone loves No Code.

I love No Code, I just love it. But then I like all PJ's albums, yes even Riot Act to those out there who love to knock that album! No Code is a highly creative and experimental album with some brilliant stuff, especially Present Tense, Red Mosquito and Smile (although Smile wasn't written by PJ was it? correct me if I'm wrong!). Everyone has their different opinions on what PJ albums they like and dislike but this is a fantastic album and I listen to it every now and then, even my husband likes it, someone who's very fussy with his musical tastes and only likes "some" of their stuff.
  • No Code Is F*&%ing Brilliant. In My Tree Is Genius Song Writing. Spend The Money For That Song Alone If I Had To.

you are corrected sir. there has only been one song cowritten with an "outsider" on any of their albums, that being Army Reserve YUCK!!!!!! YUCK even mentioning the name of the song makes me vomit horrendously

Army Reserve was one of the better songs on that album IMO.

You are somewhat correct. Ed is credited with the lyrics and Jeff with the music. However, Ed's lyrics actually come from a note that was written to him by one of the members of The Frogs.

I thought it was just the 'Three crooked hearts and swirls all around...' line at the end that came from that note.

Although when you look at the rest of the lyrics there really isn't much left...

This is the album where I almost lost track of Pearl Jam. Who knows why? Maybe it's because it wasn't on MTV like the others (I know lame, but read on). Thank God for my best friend in high school who bought it for me for my 16th birthday and said I know they're your favorite.

It took me a while to get into this album. I think it took me even a few years to go back and truly listen to it. Perhaps I had to mature into it. The lyrics on this album I think are amongst Eddie's best and most poetic and powerful.

everybody has a choice. they can hate it or love it. just leave them alone.
just take a moment, without any anger or hate, just laugh at the fuckers (inside)

no code sucks? they should be drag on the street and shot.
ok .. back to the choice theme ..

i was sorta i the same boat on this one when it came out. i just didn't understand it. i think i had some other expectations in mind when i knew a new PJ album was coming out. for some reason i remember thinking that this seamed like an album that was rushed out for the sake of putting out a new album...i never lost my love for the band, just this album in particular....

it wasn't until after yield had been out for a bit that i reexamined no code and figured out that it was part of their progression as a great rock band. i may have not been ready for the change at the time it was presented to me, but sometimes it takes a little for something new to click the right way.

    no code f*ckin rocks
