i am in chicago on business today and i heard about this on the radio as well....They did not say it was going to be a full tour, but a one off show for charity...

I think if they got back together for a tour, it would by far be the largest grossing tour in HISTORY....Far bigger than ANY Rolling Stones tour... they could charge whatever they wanted, and people would pay the price to see Zepplin again...it has been way to long for a band that has all original members but the drummer not to tour...If Queen can tour without the most noticable missing member, i am sure Zepplin can do it as well.

  • I seen Page/Plant in 98. Plant couldn't hold a candle to his former self, and really there are few who can. One thing he can do is sorta rearrange the melodies a bit to suit his present range. I am not sayin it was the greatest show ever played, but the 2 together have a certain kinda magic. Add JPJ and they could pull off something truly badass. Jones gets lost in the shuffle, in talk of great bassists, but has there ever been a bass player so willing to serve a song. I can't imagine anybody else in Zeppelin. Bonzo's son worries me. If you ask me they should get someone that worshipped at the throne of Bonzo(Danny Carey, Dave Grohl) instead of the the crown prince.

It's not gonna be Zeppelin, but no one is expecting that. I honestly don't think they can pull it together as good as Floyd did at Live 8. But if the MIGHTY ZEPPELIN wants to fly again then, in my humble opinion, then that just about kicks maximum ass.
  • Dave Grohl would be my first pick for drummer, but Jason Bonham has more "right".

I'd go, and I'd pay for a premium seat in the house as well.
    Music is not a competetion.

Why does he have more right. Maybe if he woulda spent more time practicing, he would have the right. Dave Grohl has wet dreams about playing with Zeppelin, so you know he would bring it. Or, as I mentioned Danny Carey, I know it's not possible, but nobody brings down the hammer of the gods like him and Bonzo.
  • What about Cameron. He has all the odd time signatures.

Nah. Grohl would be really good. He would be closer to Bonzo's big sound.
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win
  • random points-

Ive Seen Jason Bonham live twice, and he is probably the 2nd best drummer i have ever seen live. (peart)

And so what if Plant doesnt sound the same? Neither does Vedder. He learned to sing instead of scream.

Page and Plant were very good in 98.

do people still believe what they have heard on the radio? especially regarding zep reunions?

(BUM) Rock group Led Zeppelin will be reuniting later this year.

Robert Plant, former singer of the group Led Zeppelin, has confirmed that he will be reuniting with his former band members later this year.

A source that met Plant in London stated that he would meet the other members of the group, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. Plant did specify that this meeting was a one time thing, and would not be ongoing.

This event may be a charity concert in November at the O2 arena in London, organized by Harvey Goldsmith.

There are also rumours that Led Zeppelin may play with Jason Bonham, the son of their drummer died.

I should have clarified, i meant in regards to the whole "if it goes well, they may tour" mindset.

Which could possibly be true... But i would never post anything i heard on the radio... do you know how many times throughout the years a random radio DJ has thrown out the Page and Plant are recording in the Studio, and Jones is with them!

They have no inside information typically, its more made up than an internet rumor, because at least on the internet you can respond with "Link Please"
