I saw them open for Audioslave back in '05 and thought they were pretty good. Their new album flat out sucks though.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I refuse to check out anything by them after the crap I have heard on the radio, cant believe bands like this become popular.

I don't understand why bands get carved up for having a popular song on radio and/or sounding somewhat like PJ or Nirvana. I would much rather have this music then most of the other crap you are forced to hear on radio.
That being said, I am not a Nickelback fan, but Seether I like. I saw them last time in Vancouver and they rocked. High energy and loud set. Covered Immortality and a AIC song, can't remember which one.
I'd go see them if I were you....
    How is the new album?
  • Seether is pretty good man. I've seen them a few times and they were solid. When Shaun Morgan sings and doesn't scream he's got a good voice.
Listen to Waste on the new records. It kicks ass.

Here's a few other things about Seether and why I say go to the show.
They are highly influenced by PJ, Nirvana, Alice, Soundgarden so they are somewhat of a refreshing new type of band compared to the other new garbage out there. When they opend for Audioslave a few years ago Shaun would come out and do "Fell on Black days" with Cornell. So obviously Cornell thought highly of them.

Also are they still playing with Breaking Benjamin? If so GOOOOO. They rock too.
    PJ - 36

No, not playing this show with Breaking Benjamin- wish they were. This is an off date of their tour. We just feel lucky they they are coming. Only one more week!!!

And for the person above you- yes! Their new album rocks!

I dont carve them up because they are on the radio, I carve them up because they are boring and terrible.

Thanks! I'm really hoping that they play "Immortality"- not holding my breath though (from the looks of their recent set lists)

Well, I ended up going to the show last night and I wasn't disappointed at all. They didn't play "Immortality", but they did play AIC "Nutshell" and destroyed it! My only complaint about last night was that the show was too short- they played for about 75-80 minutes. I guess I'm just spoiled with bands like PJ that always play 2.50 hours at every show.

I had a great time last night and I'd recommend to everyone that likes this band to go see them live if they come anywhere near you.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

I think it's nice for a band like Seether to cover some of the songs they have. Obviously they were heavily influenced by these bands so I think it's great they're showing them the respect they deserve. They typically go for some of the more obscure songs which makes it that much better. At least they're not covereing Alive and Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I was thinking the same thing last night when they play "Nutshell"

  • "Fake It" is one of the best songs on the radio now. I crank that CD up all the way when I'm jammin. Just watched Single Video Theory last night for old times sake as well.

Glad you enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them for free by winning tickets. I am going to make a big effort to get down to seattle and see them in december. Fake it does rock!!

Hey, you almost got deleted from my Myspace for posting that cover. lol. I'm not a fan of theirs, but I guess it's cool if they wanna pay tribute to the band by playing their song...but get the fucking lyrics right. Nothing annoys me more then when a band covers a song & screws up the lyrics.

  • I have seen them on 4 different occasions and I like them live. Good bunch of guys too...hung out with them after X-fest in Dayton, Ohio...fun times

Hey! I was just so excited about seeing them! And they put on one hell of a show. At least we can all agree on PJ, right?
