    One thing you can say about bands like Pearl Jam and Green Day (and many others I can't think of off the top of my head) is that they have not "sold out" and never will. For them it's about the music and the fans; for Nickelback it has become all about the money and what will sell (how or why it sells I don't really know). This may be more the fault of the record company than of the band, but the band let it happen.

    There are so many more that are so much better than either one of those. I Witness--which no one outside of Canada has heard of, likely. Not even sure if many outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba has heard of them. Maybe some people in Regina, Saskatchewan (they've played there). And that's all I can come up with right now...brain not working well.:D

    I hate admitting this! But I pretend they're just mocking emo whiny bitches for their own amusement. You know, "doing the popular thing" to get listeners to hear their message - though that is selling out ;) I don't care I still like them! And I still hate Nickelback!

    Whatever. I said "bands like". I didn't say specifically Green Day. And yeah, I do like them...not a huge fan, but I like them. And I still don't think they're sell-outs. My opinion.

    It's funny how Nickelback are always compared to bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana etc.
    I'd personally compare them to a room full of chimps with guitars. Sure, they're loud, and occasionally energetic, and always funny to look at, but you can't deny they're a step back on the ol' chain of evolution.
    Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.
