There's about 100 threads in Other Music about Tool - we don't need another one on the Porch.

its a cool song. but exactly what i was expecting from tool, in fact sounds like a mix of tool and a perfect circle in the chorus. i'm more excited to hear the album, where all the freaky shit will be!!!

It sounds like it could have very easily been on Lateralus which is cool. But I hope that the album gets more out there or chances up alittle bit. May 2nd is surely going to rule though.

Yeah, it is ok at best. Sounds like Schism Pt. 2...also I don't really like how the lowered Maynard's vocals on it. I will buy the album though...there should be some killer songs.

I think it might have to do with the fact that they're one of the best bands goin, and definitely the most creative.

Only the intro is like Schism, the rest doesn't even resemble it. And just for the record, shouldn't this be in the "other music" section?

zzzzzz? You're honestly going to tell me that WWS is a more creative single than Vicarious?! That's crazy talk. Lame lyrics?! did we read the same ones? And Maynard is a hype mongerer in what sense?! They don't do interviews, they're not in their videos, no SNL, no Talk Show circuit, he's not on magazine covers, all we'll get is a few print ads for the album, not nearly as mush advertising hype for Tool, ever, as there is for the new PJ....so please justify.

its a damn good tool song, as usual it takes me a few listens to really get into tool, tho 2 things are confusing me, why are the vocals so low and what the hell has happened to his voice? its like he is wispering thru most of the song!!

With all due respect, Tool is the only reason Lollapalooza '97 was even worthwile. I went to the K.C. show - Korn didn't show and Prodigy freakin' closed the show.

With that said, I'm not sure why people try and compare PJ and Tool - 2 totally different sounds. Plus, PJ is MUCH more diverse. It's like comparing the Beatles (PJ) to the Beach Boys.

I heard the song. I didn't like it. I used to like Tool a lot but now I just think they're pretentious.

they've earned their respect...kinda hard to call them pretentious at this point...

Wow, I think Maynard is an amazing singer. That is the biggest common link to the bands, both have singers that sound amazing, but sound nothing like any other singer. Both have awesome musicians around them. I think what draws PJ fans to Tool is the fact, they play completely differant music, but both are raw from the heart sounds. Both have emotion in what they sing, and that is hard to find these days. My wife thinks Eddie is the sexiest man alive, not because of his looks, but because of his passion. Ed and Maynard sing what they want to sing, not what they feel will move more CD's, I think PJ fans can see that.

I feel like the breakdown in the middle is pretty similar to the breakdown in the middle of Schism

Why are we talking about Tool here? Shouldnt you all go to the Tool board and talk about Tool there?

And since it was brought up I think they blow...

I cant... I think he is a disturbed individual... I cant appreciate his music at all. Now back to Pearl Jam since this is a Pearl Jam board :)
