Yes that's why I cot it back on top. We almost lost it, it appered to be falling off a clive.
I hope you aren't eating a breadcrumb trail for dinner.
Maybe if I'll get up in the morning it will still be up here. Slint deserve some new fans.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

man I just finally got around to checking Slint out....."Spiderland" blew me away and left me completely speechless.
Washer is one of the saddest songs ever written. totally heartbreaking."What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits0 -

Yes it is.
Good night my love remember me as we fall to sleep.

it rises from the shoes on my feet.
I won't be back here, though we may meet again.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

I'm still on the fence with Spiderland. I find myself skipping through to "Washer" (track 4) and then to "Good Monring, Catpain." But the sheer brilliance of those two songs make it worth it."I wanna believe in the mercy of the world again."

it is indeed a damn fine record....it took me a while to get into it though, and there's still songs I skip over (Metropolitan Glide).
"Make It Rain" is definitely one of my top 5 favorite Waits songs ever.
"Hoist that Rag" is another classic. great song. should have been the opener."What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits0 -

I love Nosferatu man as well. Breadcrumb trail is fab. I like the whole thing, too bad it has only six songs.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

Well this album carries a lot of hype. I guess the last album i purchased that so many folks seemed to adore was in an areoplane over the sea and that one did not disapoint, so i'll be picking this one up over the weekend.
Hopefully it is as good as everyone says.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
it isn't as "pop" as In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. It is darker, moodier, heavier, more technical. Still a masterpiece, thoughprintf("shiver in eternal darkness\n");0

"Spiderland" is indeed a dark, brooding masterpiece.
it's worth it just for the song "Washer" alone."What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits0 -

I hate that word hype. What should it matter. You either like it or you don't. It hasn't gathered that much attention by marketing, it is well know (underground) because it is an absolutely gorgeous album.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

It is way better than Tweeze. Spiderland will not disappoint if you like what you have read here, because it is all that and more. But just to be sure I'd listen to it before buying it.« One man's glory is another man's hell.

I think I need to bring some sanity in this discussion...Spiderland is a very good album no doubt but don't think it quite falls in the masterpiece category. And I've said this before but Pink Floyd could just as well be credited for spawning post-rock...maybe it didn't happen as immediately as with Slint but I hear more post-rock in 'A Saucerful of Secrets' or 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene' than I hear in 'Good Morning, Captain.'
I think mookeywrench got it spot on earlier in this thread when he saidmookeywrench wrote:the lo-fi production takes away from hearing everything that the album could have been especially in terms of dynamic range."Reality continues to ruin my life." - Calvin & Hobbes.

And while I'm at it let me say that Talk Talk just plain sucks. I tried a lot to hear whats so great about Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock but there is nothing. Its just some meandering and noodling around without any buil-up or break-down and it goes nowhere.
It's a masterpiece.0
