Anyway, I love that video of Rakim and it is so funny that you and my son share the same taste in terms of someone who is awesome but not very well known in the pop terms anyway. I never heard of him and then, bam! I am turned on to him and you guys are right; he is awesome........
thanks again..................
I remember that sequence and I was in there somewhere too. He's great and I saw him last year and what a poet on the mike.

That's about as deep as rap gets. Which I have no problem with, by the way.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -

Of course, they went downhill from there but that is a stunning album. Kind of a companion piece for 36 Chambers and Illmatic, in my opinion the holy trinity of east coast hip-hop."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

I really love Fast Life, the song he did with Nas on 4,5,6 as well."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

Yeah. Dancing with the Devil in particular is almost TOO depressing and disturbing. Still brilliant though.Lukin66 wrote:Immortal Technique makes me want to jump off a bridge, he's definitely a thinker

I just listened to this song for the first time. Wow. I will keep this short... I am very much a person of faith in something I don't understand,... God, The Devil, Angels, etc... and just put it this way... why would Immortal Tecnhique lie? Why would he say this story is true if it wasn't, and that makes the impact of it that much more intense.
I got a very uneasy feeling in my stomach after listening to that.10c #TBD
