Yours are fine but I do not really find Eminem very "deep", Jay Z isnt deep, Doggystyle isnt deep, and even most Tupac isnt deep.
The song he mentioned by Eminem most certainly is. Have you heard Rock Bottom? Back when he actually seemed to care about making music and not just money. It's a terrific song.

Also, Tupac has written some of the deepest songs ever. He just got too sucked in by the rap lifestyle.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

Very pleased to see Brother Ali mentioned and disapointed to see that Atmosphere is not.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?

Yeah, I think we were on the thread, "Does anyone listen to rap?". Right? My son likes Rakim and you turned me on to the video. Right?

Might have been me. I remember talking to you about Rakim anyway.

I am sorry that I forgot. I have spoken to you other times here and didn't recognize that.

Anyway, I love that video of Rakim and it is so funny that you and my son share the same taste in terms of someone who is awesome but not very well known in the pop terms anyway. I never heard of him and then, bam! I am turned on to him and you guys are right; he is awesome........

    thanks again..................

I remember that sequence and I was in there somewhere too. He's great and I saw him last year and what a poet on the mike.

"My shit be all deep up in dat thyck azz, tryck!"

That's about as deep as rap gets. Which I have no problem with, by the way.
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?

    :)

Of course, they went downhill from there but that is a stunning album. Kind of a companion piece for 36 Chambers and Illmatic, in my opinion the holy trinity of east coast hip-hop.

not exactly a deep rap song, but the lyrical wordplay by G Rap is legendary, top 20 rapper for sure. listen to this song, hes great. i've listened to it over and over lately. that bass line polo lays down is infectious too.

G Rap's performance on Men At Work from Road to the Riches is unbelievable.

I really love Fast Life, the song he did with Nas on 4,5,6 as well.

Yeah. Dancing with the Devil in particular is almost TOO depressing and disturbing. Still brilliant though.

I just listened to this song for the first time. Wow. I will keep this short... I am very much a person of faith in something I don't understand,... God, The Devil, Angels, etc... and just put it this way... why would Immortal Tecnhique lie? Why would he say this story is true if it wasn't, and that makes the impact of it that much more intense.

I got a very uneasy feeling in my stomach after listening to that.
