Of the numerous PJ shows I've been to the only one I've drank at was the 'Ice Bowl' @ Alpine Valley in 2000... It was only 16 degrees outside and by the time Supergrass left the stage I was all warm and toasty on the inside
I still give the band alot of props for actually playing through like 26 songs in that weather.. I'll never forget watching Mike in a big black leather jacket and scarf parked right in front of one of those space heaters trying to give it his all with frozen phalanges ..2000 8/3 8/9 8/10 8/12 8/18 8/20 8/21 9/5 10/7 10/8 10/9

It's not the OP's fault IMO that he ate some ganja brownies by mistake.
That said, was trashed for the both Gorge shows and remember every second of each of them. Different strokes for different folks I guess.NERDS!0 -

It looks like you have problem. Maybe you should not travel with individuals who feel like they have to do "vodka bombs" before entering a show. A couple of beers a 750 Vicodin and you should be good to go. My question is why after the past experiences do you continue to not remember PJ shows? When PJ goes to the midwest I go to at least 12 shows every time. I like to party, I like to drink, I don't do Illegal drugs.....anymore. I do know that I cut myself off and make sure my buzz is perfect and memorable for the PJ experience. If anyone has to sit out in a car and get wasted before the concert and leave not remembering anything you should ashamed of yourself and give your tickets up to someone who couldn't get in. No disrespect here but you really need to find your higher power and enjoy what you say you have waited all year for.

SOUTH OF SEATTLE, you know what I do apologize for my last post. I attended the ICE BOWL and I had to drink to feel warm and make it through the show. I was wasted (sorry everyone but that was the last time I was wasted at PJ.) The only good thing besides seeing the band play was that we were so Drunk that the park department woke us up in the parking lot and told us to leave. If anyone has been to Alpine Valley we all know how much it sucks to get out of that place. (unless you stayed in the Alpine Hotel. I highly recommend!!) When we were awaken by the park department we were the only car in the lot. So it worked out great. We were out of there quick, just 6 hours later of course.

No need to apologize. Things like what happened to you at Alpine are part of the experience. Drinking and whatever just doesn't effect my memory like that. Plus, that's what boots are forNERDS!0 -
like others have said, i never understood boozing it up at a show. I want all my senses to be sharp, and I want to remember every single thing about the show0

Well that was DUMB.
That is all.0 -

Me neither ... I want to be sharp and fully aware when seeing the greatest band on the planet.0 -

why the fuck do you go to a show like this if you cant remember and enjoy it ?
smoke all the weed you want- but dont smoke them damn cigarettes ( they smell horrible and just in genreal are disgusting ) - that means you too eddie !
i hate to disagree with you, i was on the lawn at camden I and the weed was so bad my eyes was watering(granted i dont smoke, so maybe im not used to it) But then during crazy mary, the kid in front of me passed out for 2minutes, and right on my feet. I am an emt so all i thought was "fuck, im going to have to save somebody and miss the rest of the show" luckily the kid woke up and his friends dragged him out of the lawn. But the whole show he and his friends had been smoking and slam dancing(including during Black, what the fuck)
so i had my eyes watering and thinking about that kid for the rest of the show, and during their slam dancing, one of the kids punched a lady in the face, all due to their excessive weed binge.
If you wanna smoke, do it outside the venue, dont bring it inside, where there will be people who dont want it.E. Rutherford 6/03/06

Yes at the West Palm Beach show I had two seats up close! I gave those up when a girl I am interested in said she wanted to go. As the concert gets closer she invites more of her friends. They all ended up getting extremely high before the show and during and left halfway through the show!!!!! To quote her, "We were tired and hungry and over it."
I was extremely pissed off of course. It ruined about 3 or 4 songs because i was sitting there stewing. But Do the Evolution came on and helped me through it.
I could have sat closer and had a better time, so the lesson learned here is never pick a girl over killer seats to a concert.
At least a week later I went to another concert with another girl and had a better time, but it wasn't Pearl Jam.2003-Tampa

Please dont bother with MSG..... we dont want you here!
Thanks!se7v7en wrote:Anyone ever have a simlar experience?......
I got to Camden around 5:30 without havin eaten anything since 11 am. The group I came with (8 people) wanted to do power hr but I refused, thinking id get too intoxicated before an important night.
They insisted so we settled on a case race instead thinking i could just drink however much or little i decided. About an hr later, I was still starving and threw back a few cookies and brownies. Now I was def drunker than expected, probably due to the lack of food and totally forgot that the brownies were for my sister and her friends for a "special" reason. I had never had any type of drug before and an hr later was about the last thing i remember clearly. Dont know if the problem was the alchohol, brownies, but i guess it was both.
Once in the venue I had lost 6 of the people we came with. Shorty after finding my seat, I remember H2I and corduroy (prolly bc i was pissed i saw the exact 2 1st songs at roo). After that I rem bits in pieces of songs. I rem YLB and thinking its over already?
I got home and saw that i sent around 40 texts trying to locate the people i came with (who were all also alone). I am still so upset I basically missed a show Ive been so excited to see for months.
I'm still heading up to MSG 1 and plan on totally redeaming myself, but still...
Anyone else ever screw up and cause yourself to have a terrible pj experience that you regret?A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is one who hopes they are.0 -
i drink before and during shows and never in my life have i been that bad not to remember a show0
