  • Good tune.
Exactly good song....I've been saying this for over 10 years and one of my best friends agrees with me too..."Soup" is definetly and I mean definetly in my Top 5 albums of all time...Love how you can just press play and listen...never feeling like you need to skip a song

I only got reintroduced to Blind Melon about 3 years ago after I had lost interest when they were around and kind of pegged them into that No Rain-band. But when I got back into them, I fell in love with this song. If I had heard this when I was 16-17, I would have played it almost daily. It would have a song on the soundtrack to my life.

"Find myself signing the same songs everyday
One's that make me feel good when things behind the smile ain't ok"

That was totally me in high school for like 2 years

One of my fav. Melon songs for sure.

Back to the original post...Yes, "Galaxie" kicks ass. I was switching stations on my way to work the other day & caught it on the radio, quite surprised as all they ever play on the radio is "No Rain"...Kicked off the work day in a good mood for a change. :)

Truely amazing song. Great lyics as usual.
"Can I do the things I wanna do, that I don't do because of you..."
    Genius.

Can't stop listening to Nico at the moment. The Pusher is awesome, as is the whole album.

Shannon Hoon is up with Cornell, Vedder, Patton & Lanegan as one of my favourite singers.

this thread has awoken some love for the Blind Melon.

haven't been listening to them too much in the last 6-8 months.

    a nice return.

I love Galaxy, Walk, Change, St. Andrew's Fall, Toes Across The Floor, Skinned etc etc

    such an underappreciated band

  • Great song. BM are probably my 3rd favorite band right behind Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam.

My wife and I are going to see them in Memphis in a couple of weeks. Watched some of their shows on youtube and if you close your eyes, you would almost think it was Shannon singing.

They are playing in Ft Lauderdale, Florida on Dec 5th. Tickets are 13 bucks. I'm going especially for that price. Thats a steal! Anyone know if the new singer is any good? Or can someone give me some impressions at all?
Going to see them in Tallahassee a couple of days later for the same price- cant wait!

Are they playing at Revolution? I love that place!

I am now noticing that the show was Dec5th. I hope you went and had a great time. I went to the very first show in RI and I was so blown away. Very VERY emotional show for the crowd. VERY emotional for the guys. Got to chat with all of them and some of their families too. Really just amazing and I hope that this just opens the door for one of the better rock bands of the 90's to come back. It was an honor to see them. The new singer does them well. Next to seeing the Police at Fenway, by far one of the hi-lights of 2007 for me. I hope you went and I hope you enjoyed it as much as me.

For anyone else out there...GO AND SEE THEM!!!! You will not be disappointed, I promise!

Take the time and hang out with the guys after the show. They are all so amazing to talk to. I wish I was in your shoes!!!!! I would love to go and see them again tonight. I know I cried for numerous songs. I know, goofy, sorry but I am still a chick! I just really loved them and I just could not believe that I was hearing their music right in front of me. I just thought it would never happen. I am just so happy for the band. You will have a GREAT TIME. Please write tomorrow and tell us about it.

  • Mouthful of Cavities will always be my favorite Blind Melon song, but Galaxie is great as well... I should've gone to see them this past week... but I had school, so yeah... but it was $12!!! SHIT!

For you that have seen them live... how many/what songs do they play?
If I could, think I would give in.
