    Im guessing Stilll around?

People like Dennis Chambers, Tony Royster Jr, Terry Bozzio, Neil Peart are some of the best

immy Chamberlin or Matt Cameron are also verry good

Its hard to tell as most arn't in their prime anymore
  • Saw Matt Chamberlain play with Tori Amos the other night and he was amazing, as was she. There are many great drummers out there, however.. Matt Cameron is no doubt at the top heap.

I was going to point that out too. I believe he means Neil Peart.

And Matt Cameron, yes is a very good drummer, is not the best in the world.

It feels like this topic comes up again every couple of months.

Check out Gene Lake. He's a pretty badass drummer, and I personally think he's better than Matt.

This changes alot for me. Just the other day all those little fills that Neil Peart does in Tom Sawyer were kickin my ass. There has gotta be 100 essential drum licks in that song.

  • I'm not a musician. I don't know the dynamics of drumming but I really wanted to say that Jimmy Chamberlain is my favourite drummer of all time.

Jon Theodore, formerly of The Mars Volta, is the best I have ever seen, and by a wide margin. I'd throw in Jose Pasillas from Incubus and Glen Kotche from Wilco too.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
