I'm going to have to give it to Dave Grohl. His work on the skins is simply incredible. Not sure how good he is now since he doesn't play that much but back in the day he was the man. Any thoughts?

    I think Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater or Danny Carey of Tool.

    I can't argue with any of the choices, but as far as rock bands, Danny Carey and Neil Peart take the cake for me.

    Jon Theodore from The Mars Volta. He is absolutely insane. I am normally much more of a guitar person than a drum person, but I couldn't stop watching him drum when I saw them live. Scary good.
    It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

    I'm gonna go with Grohl too. Simply because "Songs for the Deaf", never before have I heard drums that literally make the album!
