    speaking as someone who is also pedantic & anal over any creative work (not that i've ever worked on something for 15 years, but still); it is his project, he can do whatever the hell he wants, he doesn't owe it to anyone but himself.

    well, except maybe the record company after the millions of dollars they've invested in it...

    i just feel for the guy, i can't imagine the weight on his shoulders right now. jeez, he is just making music.

    Actually, I think I read this somewhere on the government's proposed bailout plan. One of the politicians was trying to sneak in a clause that said everyone must purchase this album at an inflated price at a specific retailer.

    wouldnt you say at this point there is no way that the album can live up to 15 years of hype. . .i mean is there any chance anyone will like it. . .i dont think anyone really cares if it ever comes out, anyone who wants to hear the songs can find them on the internet. . .i personally don't care enough, its just annoying that it seems to come up every couple of months. . .the thing was done years ago, axl is an asshole for doing this to whatever fans he has left. . .its pathetic

    the fact that it has been 15 years & people are still talking about it, yeah, i think some people still care ;)

    the reason it has been 'hyped' for so long is because the last incarnation of the band wrote 3 great records that made them the biggest band on the planet & people are hoping that axl can do it again, this time by himself. no pressure. the record won't please everyone, there is no doubt about that, but to say that no one will like it is a little exaggerated, don't you think?

    i don't understand why people are so bitter towards the guy :confused:

    I listened to the leaked copy of the 11 songs and I wasn't blown away.

    This album will do millions in sales, but not as good as the classic tunes.
    I did like the title song (chinese democracy) along with shacklers revenge (which I think is the guitar hero song)

    Worth a listen though..

    people still talk about it because its a running joke, nothing more. . .and unless you are going to put blinders on and make pretend axl isn't the biggest douche in the world for what he's done with this album i don't see why anyone would care. . .and i used to like them, i would never even give this album a chance, never give axl the satisfaction of thinking that we care so much about it. . .i suggest you do the same

    The Album won't get released & Nobody's getting any Dr.Pepper for free!! It's been 6 years now that it should be released and every year (every couple of months) there are some lame excuses!! For almost a year now "it's just down to the mastering of the album" for it to be released. Axl is a loony who realises no matter how often he changes or remixes the recordings they don't even match his lousy expectations and that's why they'll never be released officially.

    The album is completed and has been handed over to the record label. That was in April. Since then they've been negotiating terms for the release, marketing, all that crap. The album is finished.
