    Definitely Stipe.

    Every time he speaks, I feel like I'm hearing from an old friend. He has the one of the most calming voices I could think of.

    Interesting thread because I've got similar things with each band:

    I never really cared for either of them untill they changed their sound a little

    U2 - Never disliked them, just found them boring untill Achtung Baby -

    REM- Hated them - Untill Monster

    Now U2 - I went back and am a fan of everything

    Now REM- Still not crazy about older stuff, but I do like them


    So, U2 wins the vote
    I'll keep taking punches
    Untill their will grows tired

    Bono just irritates me. Period.

    He ALWAYS wears those ridiculous shades! I know it's his image and all, but when he comes onstage wearing those shades i can't take him seriously. He may do a lot for charity but it's definitely boosted his ego, you can tell just by watching him.

    Stipe is very enigmatic, and it draws me in when i listen to REM albums or watch the live DVDs. He's a much better frontman, and last year in Manchester he sounded phenomonal!

    hmm, if that's true then that's fair enough i guess. But if it's not true i may have to grab them off his face and destroy them if i ever meet him.
