    Lady, Lady, Lay
    Mr Tambourind Man
    North Country Blues

    and et al

been listen' to Dylan for many years and still lovin his songs.. :)
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

Honestly, I don't think anything is even in the same league as Desolation Row... that song is just epic.
The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.
  • girl of the north country?

I think people who say "Girl From The North Country" should have to specify which version, the one from 1962 or the one from 1969, they like better.

And for the person who said they love "Nobody 'Cept You," you're right, the song is great and should have been the last song on "Planet Waves" instead of Wedding Song, which is good, but the lyrics aren't quite up to par.

    Fair enough!

Actually, I never really liked the Dylan versions until I heard a cover by this woman named Susan Hamlin from Saratoga, NY.

    It's fantastic.

  • It can't be done.

no one can fairly do this.

    Dylan is LITERALLY god.

i mean.. that saying gets thrown around a lot.. but this man is quite literally our lord.

    bless him.
Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

There's no bigger Dylan fan than me, but there's no way I'd ever consider him a God. Sure, he's a great poet, but outside of music he's really done nothing to categorize him as a God.

My favorite is Tangled Up In Blue. Like a Rolling Stone is a very close second. I think it's probably the best song ever written.

I posted already but then I remembered Mississipi. Good god that song is special

"All my powers of expression and thoughts so sublime
Could never do you justice in reason or rhyme"
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
