Just got inside info from a friend that is at some Best Buy get ready for the holidays convention in Dallas. Apparently this November Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy will be released exclusively at Best Buy. I asked if he was giving me exclusive inside info and he said "Yes sir I did, hearing samples right now, sounds great".

November. Best Buy. Chinese Democracy.

    Well, I can completely understand that. I don't care about GNR, but my friend knows I love music so he thought he'd let me in on it. The convention is an employee only thing to prepare them for the big holiday rush, so it all adds up. I understand your hesitatation, but he's my best friend, so he says he's hearing the new stuff and it's coming out in November in his store, Iso I personally have to believe him.

    I believe this 100%. We know the album has been done for a while and it's consistent with other reports from a few weeks back.

    I'm not sure if it should be a question about whether the release date is actually SCHEDULED for November and/or whether it's a Best Buy exclusive. Both of those things sound perfectly legit.

    The real question is if it will actually happen this time or if it'll just end up like the gazillion other "firm" dates that've been announced and advertised before.

    Now he's saying that it will be Thanksgiving weekend. So I'm guessing if it's a normal Tuesday release, it will be November 25. But if it decides to be a "Green Friday" (best buy jargon) release, we're looking at November 28th. He cracks me up, he said "Any traction on the Pearl Jam board?" He knows me way too well.

    Chinese Democracy being released exclusively at Best Buy???

    I can't see this being true.

    Perhaps a limited edition version will be available only at Best Buy, but the idea of releasing a CD to one chain of stores exclusively makes no sense for a record label or an artist.

    Sure it does. When a band does this, it guarantees the purchase of so many copies. AC/DC made a deal with Wal-Mart for their next record, and the company has bought 3 million of them. So, they have those guaranteed buys, even if the album would normally tank. It was probably their (GnR & Geffen) smartest move to see any kind of money from this, considering how much has been spent over the last decade plus to make it
