Wishlist silent auction Fundraiser for Chicago 8/24 TC 84xxx
Hello Everyone-
I have decided to donate my spare(one ticket to sit with me) tenclub ticket to the Chicago 8/24 to the wishlist pre-party/fundraiser on 8/23.
My number is 84xxx and USUALLY would land me seats in the front 6 rows to Chicago shows, sometimes closer, sometimes farther
this will be done as a silent auction on the board until Sunday JUNE 21ST midnight Chicago time (central).
the auction will begin at the time of this post as a silent auction in which you must PM me with your bid, and a phone number I can contact you at to notify you of being outbid on Sunday, or hopefully as the winner to make details to meet Monday night before the show. I will not call anyone until Sunday for outbids, so check the board until then.
there are two things to know about before bidding:
1. I am a teacher and do not do drugs or smoke, since you will be sitting next to my lame ass do not bid if you want to do either of these. I am being kind enough to give up a premium seat, I only ask you have clean fun and respect my request. (shower as well that would be nice to). If you want to drink I am cool with it as long as you don't puke or start singing like a hyena and get into fights
2. understand that due to the uncertain nature of tenclub ticketing I cannot make any assurances of where we will sit, so if there is a mix-up ala grand rapids I think it was, and we are 25 rows back not 5 or six don't cry to me I have no control over it. It is the gamble you take.
this is 100% legit, you can pm foxymop(Laura to confirm if you would like), I can give you many more references of my legitimacy if you need them ..
first bid must be $75.00 US dollars, and all bids are assumed to be in American dollars. Payment must be received to wishlist by JULY 1st- payment details will be discussed with the winner. 100% of the proceeds will go to wishlist charities. First bid received, if there are two at one price, will be used.
I may have to edit this post to correct any details I may have missed, they will be listed with update date
I have received permission from Tenclub to donate this ticket as well
current high bid will be maintained daily by me- good luck and remember this is for charity so no bitching!
Finally only LEGIT BIDS PLEASE
be sound- Mike
UPDATE 6/1- I may be making the auction end sooner so people can make arrangements to get to the windy city (makes sense), so keep your eyes peeled. KAT thanks for the sticky you rock!
Update 6/3 I am changing the auction end date to JUNE 21st That will give everyone time to make arrangements for the show and find one if they get outbid.
Update Friday June 5th- a post in the thread brought up a good point it isn't really a silent auction if we know the bids, so call it what you want. It is a charity auction and I will list high bid history and first alternate. I was going by what i was told to label it.
UPDATE JUNE 13th: talked to my tax guy on deductions of donations, the winning bidder can write the donation price off, minus the face value of the ticket. meaning bid is 500 bucks ticket cost 50, total charitable contribution to winning bidder is $450.00
Update June 21st- AUCTION IS CLOSED and congrats to the winner notradebaxx
WINNING Bid: notradebaxx $500.00
First Alternate: boxorbag $350.00
second alternate :Boo-ya $300.00
Bid History:
1. Notradebaxx $300.00 June 3, 7:16 PM

3. Notradebaxx $500.00 June 5, 8:35 AM

Sammi: Wanna just break up?
the drugs is referring to pot. I guess heroin, crack, speed, lsd, coke and any others as well.
Booze okay if you behave
hope that helps

1) This is very cool of you to do this
2) I would bid but I dont live near chicago so why make a bid and then fly up there and cross my fingers the day of the show that no one out bids me
3) Have this auction just go for the month of June or July and do the whole paypal thing in advance, that way out of towners can potentially win and make travel arrangements, you will probably make more money for the charity !!
Rock n roll
32 shows since 2001 and counting ..
I will update it when I hear back from her
Mike
It opens the door for those, like me, who are willing to travel but would need time to make arrangements.

d'er.......looked at 1st post again.
two bids for 300 bucks, making them the current leader and first alternate.
remember this is for charity ;-) so keep bidding
This seems more like a charity 'auction'.
okay call it that then, I am posting bids so people know what they have to bid I was going on what someone else told me to do from wishlist, lets not debate stuff, just bid
This is a great idea. Hopefully, this could be a growing trend. Although I am not sure if people would bid aggressively for my 298xxx tix. For the record, this is very much like a "Silent" auction in that you are verbally reporting the bids just as one would review the sheet for an item at a silent auction. People bid on a sheet, one higher than the next. Then a person can view the most recent written bid that must be higher than the last. And you are doing that...just in a delyaed sense and through posts. Peeps must accept the fact that it is impossible to "duplicate" the real time aspect in this forum one could expect by standing around a table. So, there really shouldn't be any bitching.
My only half hearted complaint is the "no pot" disclaimer. Us stoners are very generous people. And we buy things we shouldn't for way too much money when we get high. Can I assume PCP, and Angel Dust OK?
I am not worried everyone down there is always cool about whatever choices anyone makes(except the dude in Milwuakee for the Vedder show...that got way out of hand)
Who gets the tax write off? The Buyer or you?
The write off for the buyer would be, for example, $500.00 minus the face value of the ticket... fees and service charges are not deductible.
So.. the Wishlist Foundation will send out the tax information to one person... to whom will it be?
Thanx.
Hail, Hail!!!
this is a question for Laura(Foxymop) I will PM her, but she has not been responding too much of late for whatever reason. I will post the answer in the updates part of the first page as soon as I hear back from her
GREAT question
Mike
i do believe you're correct on the above.
you get the face value for the ticket to write off and the winning bidder gets everything over that.
i'm sure when laura gets back she can confirm.
if you need to, PM evil closet monkey (eric) as he is the wishlist treasurer and would know the IRS info.
altho he IS in albany, that I'm sure of.
really awesome thing you're doing here H2I
kudos to you and to all of the bidders
peace,
jeannette
Get it now, get enough, before its gone, let's everybody carry on, carry on....

Can we just let the situation from Milwaukee go and forget it please? Besides I think he was from Chicago and a Cubs fan anyway. hehe
Great thing that your doing. I hope it creates alot of money.
I respect your wishes on the pot issue and the smell. But IMO there is nothing worse then someone that stinks of cigarette smoke. Then they try and cover it up with gum or something. I'll take the pot smell over cigarette smell anyday. Ok I'm off my soap box.
i feel for the dudes in 2nd&3rd place...good dudes as well...just not rich...
wish i was rich
damn
Considering its for a great charity...I'm all for it! If somone has the dough to spend.. better w/this than some other purchase...like from a scalper...
Great idea HTM!!
Ya...seems that topic never goes away...GREAT show in Milwaukee....minus one Chicago jerk. Hopefully Ed understands and will "Come Back"!!!
Great work, HardToImagine... many people would pocket the money for themselves. It speaks volumes for the spirit of Pearl Jam fans.
Hail, Hail!!!
yep... what she said
