Well, not sure if you heard the "new song" ;) , but if they play that they likely won't be getting too many new fans...

    Oops...that's not to be mentioned...

To be fair....its tough to gauge the quality of that

That's true, but it just sounds like a basic, straight up rocker...we'll see.

It would be funny if they played a completely different song after all of this hype :)

I think my favorite part of new albums might be the hilarious overdramatic posts like this one. Get real Nothing will change after they play Conan or even after they release the album. It'll chart in the top ten then disappear from the billboard chart a few weeks later. The world doesn't really care about or consider pearl jam vital anymore. I heard the new song floating around. Nothing particularly original or exciting but it's not bad either. Reminds me of avocado.
  • After Conan people will be saying the same thing they have been saying for 10 years........

"Their first couple albums were good"

They'll also be saying, "I didn't know Pearl Jam was still around" I get real sick of hearing that.

i don't think the earth's axis is gonna get shifted because of monday night...it probably matters more to all of us than the general population. and that's fine :) all i know is i'm really excited to see the band play again. it's been almost a year, i'm already jonesin' to see 'em, even if it's just on tv :)

    Great posts
Here is some of my reasoning
    1) Tonight Show first night, new host, worldwide audience that will be HUGE - it is not the same as playing David Letterman on a normal weeknight.
    2) so far at least there are only THREE SHOWS plus whateverthefuck festival they're playing at in NORTH AMERICA. If there was a full tour it might be a slightly different story.
    3) Lawns are already going for $150 for Toronto
ps That Nashville fucker better be an awesome dude

I would love to see the world appreciate Pearl Jam for the historic band that they are (living history you could call it).
I don't really care if they sell any cd's or get radio play
I just think that these three shows are going to be a fuckin' HOT ticket and that is the way it is.
    that is all I'm saying.
and I am freaking out as well because I am going to be there.

The only ones who are going to get all excited and freak out over the fact that Pearl Jam is playing new music on the The Tonight Show with Conan is all of us crazy obsessed fans who spend 90% of our free time on this message board!

I don't think this appearance is going to generate a lot of new fans. Most of us have been fans since the 90's.
