Does anyone know what the best version is of this show? There is a monkeywrench radio version, a Q101 release, and The Point release(where the vinyl came from). Any info would be great thanks. :)

The version that combines the Monkeywrench radio with an audience recording is the best.

YES! everything else is either incomplete and/or out of order.

Thanks for the reply. Is this only something I can get by download or was it released as an actual silverback I can purchase. If so, what is its real name so I way search for it. ;)

It was released as a download only. I've seen two versions. One is two disc and one is three disc.

The two disc version has this in the info file:

"Source: Boot CD-"Live at Soldier Field": MWFM (Red Robin) + "Animal" from MWFM > Q101 promo CD + Coresounds > Sony TCD-D7"

The three disc version has this:

    "2 Sources Mix: Monkey Wrench Mono FM + CS > D7 > 3 CD-R"

It appears that one uses a boot CD and the other an FM broadcast, but I don't know the real difference. Maybe somebody else will.

If you have a problem finding a download or if you need a CDR version, you can drop me a line.

    you can find it there

the red robin is an fm source as is the q101- both were direct feeds from the soundboard

Bass is a little weak, but overall sound is great/good as it comes. Ed's voice was a little so so on songs

Immortality is the best version of it ever

Hello, when you download FLAC files from megaupload do you need special software. I have a Mac. Thanks. Do I need a manager.

the 3 Cd version is easily the best for audio and completeness,

however the packaging of the two disc foldout one is awesome too

I have the 3 disc version. It was the Monkey Wrench release version that came with the foldout poster. The third disc has bonus tracks form the Summerfest show in WI. Eddie singing 'Forever In Blue Jeans' is just classic. I think my version had a seperate cassete tape with 'Animal' on it. For some reason that didn't make it onto the discs. But I can't find that tape anywhere.

All you need is FLAC Frontend to decode the files into WAV's after you download them. You can download it free from soundforge.

By the way. I use the latest version of Winamp to play audio files. The latest version will also play FLAC files without any problems or having to decode it. There is new burning software that will burn FLAC files directly to cd. I personally cant do it with mine. But use FLAC Fronted to decode to wav files and burn them to cd. There are other programs that can decode as well. Here is the page you can FLAC Frontend from. Not sure if this is the latest version, but it should work. Just be sure to pick your correct operating system.

I do beleive that the latest version of nero, at least on the mac, will burn flac files directly to CD.

Also, if you want to play SHN (shorten) files in winamp, go to this link and DL the plugin.
    http://etree.org/shnamp.html
Follow the directions to put the .dll file in its correct directory. To decode .SHN files to WAV in order to burn cd, download MKW from here.

Also, most people that have compiled shows in FLAC format do it because of the higher quality. Basically a FLAC and or a .SHN file is high quality because they arent compressed. Thats why they take up so much space. MP3's are compressed to make the file smaller to save space. But when you compress the audio file you lose quality. Anyway, the people that compiled the show into these lossless formats usually dont want them converted to mp3. Its usually frowned upon. I guess there is no issue if u do it for personal use. I just wouldnt convert FLAC/SHN to mp3 and trade or distribute it. :D:D
