Daughter. It so describes my mother and mine's relationship, especially when I was young. I love how it says, "don't call me daughter..." then eventually just says "don't call me". That is how it became with my mom and me. Juts don't call me, period.
And the part, "she holds the hand that holds her down, but she will rise above". I did!

have to go with present tense, smile, hail hail, or faithful every day although it really is quite difficult. there are more then these that define me but on a daily basis I would go with those.

If I had to pick one song that I can listen to whether I'm happy, sad, angry or whatever...it would be Do The Evolution.

No matter what, that one makes me go nuts every single time.

Finding the right song was a very interesting exercise. It made me realize just how far I've come since those times when I could relate to the depressive lyrics that seem to pervade all the albums. I can remember being able to relate to many of the songs, specially as a teenager when I originally embraced this band. I did manage to find a few I can relate to at the present time, but I had to reach for the later albums:

    Can't Keep
    I am Mine
    Inside Job

    Save You.

eV was inspired when he put those lyrics down.

wow guys. thanks for sharing that with me. i posted this last week and I got Id really spoke how i felt. I was engaged to be married on June 20th and for the life of me couldn't understand why i was so sad and why this song sparked something in me everytime i heard it.. until i grew the balls this week and left him. Best decision i ever made. and to think in 45 days i would have destroyed my life.

SO new song for me ladies and gentlemen!!

    REARVIEW MIRROR.... good riddance

Jeebus. It's a good thing you didn't go through with it if you were on the fence! Best of luck in the future.
