I just talked to a rep from the Spectrum, acted like it was announced on Ticketmaster to try to get any info, she said that she has not heard of anything confirmed for PJ there this fall:( And this was the first she heard about any possibility of PJ playing there.
This sucks donkey balls.
This too shall pass.....

Yah, there had been lots of pro-Philly rumors in recent months, but I never got my hopes too high. The latest official PJ word seems to lean away from a Philly show as well.

Just in case, I bit the bullet and am driving 8 hours to Toronto in August, just to get my fix in. :)

Same here. I was holding out for Philly because I was hoping for two nights. Then I convinced myself one guaranteed night in Toronto is better than the agony of waiting to see if they play the Spectrum at all. So I'm in the same boat as you, except my drive is 10 hours.

I wouldn't necessarily sweat that; other people here talked to other reps at the Spectrum who said they've heard it's in negotiations as recently as last week.

It concerns me that the rumors seem to have lost a little steam, but we'll see!

i think we can safely say there will be no north-east shows this year except if you count Toronto as the north-east.. Philly has made many shows over the past 10 years its the west coast's turn i feel.

I think Zozo is basically right -- that the time between SF and ACL will be filled with a lot of western and/or southern dates -- but am not losing hope for a Spectrum send-off. :D

And if not, im sure there will be some kinda tour in 2010. I would love for them to tour the northeast AGAIN. But I cant complain because we always get a lot of shows. And great ones too!

it would be great no question.. I love that the north-east gets the majority of the shows and in 2010 we will get an extensive north-east tour anyway. We won't have to wait too long.

I really hope they play Philly.. but I wonder if this Philly thing is a self perpetuating rumor.

People keep asking friends that work there and calling the venue and saying things like "ticketmaster announced they are playing the Spectrum." So then someone else calls the venue and the rep just regurgitates the same speculation that an earlier caller provided except now it appears to be more than speculation because it came from someone who works at the venue. Then it gets posted here and more people start calling to get any info and the whole thing just keeps going around and around.

  • I tried to milk some info from the spectrum employees as well to no avail...
Also, they cannot confirm a tear down date for the place either. Some people have said in september while there has also been rumor that it could be on New Years eve. Who knows the could push it back as far as next year too.

I believe it was released to the news media that NYE was the tear down date. But take that for what its worth.

    You rock! (pun intended)

I've heard similar rumors about a PJ Spectrum send off. Let's keep hope alive.

And maybe 5 vs 1 will play a mini gig in the parking lot??

    Hi All,

I am new here but noticed this thread and figured I would chime in. I was a rep in premium seating for the Wachovia Center and Spectrum for 2 years. I just sent an email to a good friend who would absolutely be aware of any conversation regarding negotiations for any concert or show. Hopefully I will have an update soon.

My sister works for Comcast-Spectacor, I asked her today and she says her bosses are still telling her that they're in talks. Take it for what it's worth but I'm pretty confident we're getting a show at either the Spectrum or the Center some time this year.
