Wasnt there a site a few years ago that tracked members who were going to a specific show and put the member #s in senority order. I just cant remember what the site was or if its still around.

been a huge jam fan for as long as I could remember but never became a member as my buddy was always one, he let his membership lapse so we're both in the 400's now :(

Either way SUPER stoked they're coming to Toronto, was about to take an OSAP loan to fly to Rotterdam and Berlin :S

got my tickets while sitting in a one-on-one meeting with my boss on the first day of my job! whenever she turned around I put info in until after what felt like half an hour, I had all my info in and tickets bought :D

so much :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D!!! the thought of this show is going to get me through the summer. I hope it's full of rarities like last year's Mansfield show, such memories!

I'm HOPING for a GOOD row in the 200's.

Now for my story...... (it's interesting for us PJ fans.... but rather long)

SO back in 2003 me and 3 others attended the Molson Ampitheatre show.

2 of us were 10c members.

our 10c seats were in sections 201 and 203 but the same row.

So we figured we would ask the people who were sitting next to us if they would swap tickets so we could sit next to each other as whoever was originally sitting next to us wouldn't be at a disadvantage because it was the same distance.

Ironically, an older couple (like 50's or so) were sitting next to my buddy and they agreed to trade tickets so we could sit next to each other.

Minutes after the transaction while my buddy was in line for beers... (expensive beers) ... he realized that the people who traded tickets did not have section 201 tickets.... but rather 101 tickets.

    We struck gold that day.

But what I couldn't quite figure out... was that if all the good seats are reserved for 10c members... how on Earth did those people not check their tickets vigorously to know where they were sitting. I'm guessing the tickets were not 10c tickets and probably reserved from someone or some company. We'll never know.

So really... while those people probably got screwed... serves them right. Every 10c member I know craves the knowledge of where they are sitting. For those people to not have known or even checked is their own damn fault if you ask me. So i was 9th row that day. Fabulous show. I'll never be that close again for a Pearl Jam show. Closest I've been since was Lolla '07... but it's just not the same as a true Pearl Jam show with all PJ fans.

See you all in T.O. :)

but why do i have the overwhelming feeling come over me of "well, while it would have been sweet for me, it seems like a mistake on their part... since I know where I was sitting, maybe i could go back and at least make them aware of the mistake, as it seems like the good thing to do" (afterall "there's no wrong or right, but I'm sure there's good and bad").

just seems like kinda shitty attitude "ha, they fucked up, fuck 'em, they should have payed more attention". have you ever fucked up before and wish that someone took the high road to help you out (and weren't those 'old' people TRYING to help you sit near your friends, which you didn't end up doing after taking advantage of their mistake?). just sayin'. I'm glad you got to bee "so close" to the stage. See ya in toronto, though at 214,xxx maybe you'll be seein' me?

totally agree on fuck the scalpers... doesn't seem "right" does it? :-)

Agreed. That story could have been so much better had it ended with a show of decency. especially considering the couple was doing a favour by accomodating the request. Pretty shitty, really.

I don't disagree with the comment..

however think of it this way...

Who would enjoy better seats more? A person who shows up to the concert HOURS early to find out where they're sitting... A person who has spent thousands of dollars supporting Pearl Jam. Or, people who are casually at a Pearl Jam show not even knowing where they're sitting.

It just didn't seem "right" to me personally knowing that someone was holding something SO EXCELLENT and not even knowing.

If someone had a car that was worth $30,000 but thought it was worth $10,000... and tried selling it to you.. when YOU knew it was worth $30,000...... would you point it out... or buy the car? Personally, I would blame the person who didn't know the worth of the item.

In the end, I agree.... pointing out the mistake would have made me a better person. But in the end... I got to see PJ from 9th row.... something I will never ever be able to do again. I don't regret it

on a side note... once when I was at a Dave Matthews show.... I had PRIME seats and had to leave the show early... (about 3/4 set) so I went all the way to the back row to find people who were "most enjoying" the concert.. and gave them my tickets :D

just seems like kinda shitty attitude "ha, they fucked up, fuck 'em, they should have payed more attention". have you ever fucked up before and wish that someone took the high road to help you out (and weren't those 'old' people TRYING to help you sit near your friends, which you didn't end up doing after taking advantage of their mistake?). just sayin'. I'm glad you got to bee "so close" to the stage. See ya in toronto, though at 214,xxx maybe you'll be seein' me?

totally agree on fuck the scalpers... doesn't seem "right" does it? :-)

(about 3/4 set) so I went all the way to the back row to find people who were "most enjoying" the concert.. and gave them my tickets :D
very reasonable response IMO. I kinda went into "duck and cover" mode not having ever been in a dialogue with you on here before. so many people get all nutz when someone posts their opposing opinion! thanks for realizing this is a dialogue full of opinion... not an attack (that would look like "YOU"RE AN F'ING .... " :-) ).

re: who would enjoy more: I think there's different ways to enjoy the show and there's no way anyone could know how much those people would enjoy the show. I wasn't there for the exchange you had with them, however if it was presented to them that "these are in the same row", and they only looked at the tix for "row X = row X", maybe they just trusted you for a "within row switch". maybe they noticed later on, but security wouldn't let them get down to where you were sitting because they didn't have tix for that section, etc.etc). I can't imagine how excited you were when you found out, so I'd guess not a lot of "am i doing the right thing" goes through anyone's mind in times like that? too much speculation on my part...

re: the car analogy: I get what you're trying to say, but I'm not sure I think it's the best analogy. If I knew it was worth $30k, I'd probably ask "what the hell is wrong with it, that's $20k less than it's approximate value". Each situation has unique circumstances. If it was an 83 yr old woman, I'd def ask why so cheap. Either she doesn't know what she's doing, and (again, IMO) ignorance shouldn't hang a sign on your head "hey, come screw me out of money (or goods, or whatever)". Maybe her husband of 50 yrs just passed away and she just wants to get rid of it, needs money quick to pay for funeral etc. etc (or a hundred other reasons).

I like the DMB story. tells me you are (or at least have been :-) ) a decent human being who thinks about others. those are the types of people I want to meet and chat with on the board and in person at shows.

I'm sure you enjoyed the PJ show up so close. I've seen PJ 3x at "uber close" (including 2x front row, GA floor, both times got there early and "worked it" to get to the fence/barrier" during all the moshing/bouncing around... most recent was Vienna 2006 where I was ~10 'rows of people' back the whole night) and 6 other times at various distances.

I also don't know about the comment "something I will never ever be able to do again". Like I said, 2006, EU tour (ok, at least Vienna) had GA floor with 10c getting in early. Go line up early... get down front (i'm guessing i could have made it to first 1 or 2 'rows' but my brother and I were hanging at a bar chatting it up with some good people we met there). It was a possibility 3 yrs ago. Plus, I don't know how old you are (or how much money you have/make), but the thing about a capitalist society is, with enough money, anything is possible. With the right motivation, and money, you could be "first few rows" at just about any show. Not everyone would give up a close ticket for $, but some would I'm sure.

I just don't think your 'end' justified your 'means' in your PJ show. It's all just my opinion of course. That and $4 will get you a (small) coffee at starbucks and not much else. :-)

I had great seats for the last show there - we were about 8th row or so (can't remember exactly - but close enough for me! - actually all the seats there are amazing)

don't forget that show was blocking - you had to line up for a few hours and you would get best seat in your block based on when you showed up at the wicket - so if you didn't line up you would get seats further back in your block

    this one is straight seniority

I am a 189XXXer. What are your thoughts on my chances to get in the first 15 rows?
Not good. Especially since it seems the Ten Club had more than usual 10% reserve of tickets.

    How do you know this?

Hey dude....I've got 190xxx and I've been seated better than 15th row in Toronto at both the ACC and MA in the last ten years. Nothings guaranteed, but you'll have great seats for an amazing night...TO crowds are epic.

    Peace,

I am so stoked to go to the home town show as I figured Toronto might get missed for the summer season at the amphitheatre. I am coming from Burlington
