Please Stop Complaining and Read This
I am a little dissappointed in all the negative responses and posts regarding these new tour dates! I am not gonna bitch and moan (mostly becasue I got tickets..haha) but I even if I didnt get tix via the Ten Club, I would be happy just to go, even if I were sitting in the back row. If anyone really wants to go to these shows, they will find a way, maybe they just wont be sitting in the front row. If you are so pissed that you got "screwed by the Ten Club", then do the right thing and not renew your membership next time!!!!!! I belong to a few other fan clubs and they are not even close in the professionalism and customer service that Ten Club offers. The system which Ten Club uses is not perfect, but what WOULD BE PERFECT????????????????????? There's only so many rows and so many seats and so much a web site can handle at one time. I went to both shows in 06, once sitting in my Fan Club seats, once sitting in the WAY back! I had a great time in both sections. So just sit back, be happy, drink an effin beer and enjoy what everyone has come to love here....

My personal gripe is only with the malfunctioning website
People have a right to complain. And just for this thread, I'm gonna double my complaints. So take that. :P

BTW, I didnt get Vic tickets and I didnt complain, so why does every person who didnt get tix feel like they have a huge reason to complain... I know its America, free speach and all that, but its tickets to a concert, not the end of the world, enjoy the show, that's all I'm saying

let me see if i follow you here....i pay 20 bucks a year for the privilege of getting tickets in advance....and the club cannot provide a web site that doesn't crash under extreme conditions like a ticket sale....i should then say 'oh well' and buy my tickets elsewhere?
The difference in this sale is that when it came back from the crash, you could still get tickets...aren't they still up and available? I haven't looked cause i can't make it to the shows. BUT, the general idea is that usually when tickets do go on sale, it crashes, and when it comes back, they're gone. How did we know this one wasn't going to be like that? It's kind of a rarity... on the ten club level of things, I'd call this one a success! (minus the no-notice to the onsales, and that all of this hype was for one US show and not an actual tour).
The difference on the EV solo things which was also put up immediately as it was announced was those were lotteries. THey left it open to everyone who wanted to enter for a few days. I hope they don't do lotteries for PJ shows in the future, but this instant onsale is pretty bogus. Because if it did sell out in the first 5 minutes (it's happened before), then it crashes, and you end up with nothing. People can complain about it.

exactly....my complain isn't with the "new" system (if it is the new system) but absolutely no communication from 10c as to how ticket sales will work...and the tweets need to go...i'm not in fucking pre-school...talk to us like adults
wow you don't get it
If you got tickets (and they are still on sale), then why gripe? Isn't the whole point getting the tickets?
You are missing the point dude. People aren't complaining that much about whether or not they got tickets. It's more about the way they are releasing tickets, the performance of a website that is suppose to be able to handle people purchasing tickets, the way they are releasing dates in a manner where we have no idea if we should shell out the dough to go see them in a city far away or if they will be in our backyard 2 weeks later.
You can't make plans the way they are doing it, and that is really what sucks to me. I don't understand why some people can't comprehend that this is a shitty way of releasing show dates. So figure out what people are upset about before you start spouting off from your pedastool. seriously.
so yeah, I'm complaining
thank you...was is this so hard for some people to comprehend?

The gripe is with the performance of the site, I am not griping about tickets :?:
And, in the case of tickets, and websites, does TM's website ever crash when hundreds and hundreds of people are trying all at the same time to purchase?
The answer is no...
I'm just hoping that if they play in or near NY that a. I can get tickets, and b. that I won't be in row ZZ or something (which I will be because my # sucks)
I totally agree, but I want someone on this board to tell me ONE OTHER website that has such mind-numbingly predictable crashes.......name one.... :?
If you have ever tried to buy a poster at OBEY, this was nothing
sorry, I can't think of one. I too was a little pissed about getting booted out of the site for about two hours today
Actually, I have to chime in and say that you are totally wrong about this. I was on Ticketmaster TODAY as a matter of fact to try and get potential Conference Finals Hockey tickets in Chicago. Tickets went on sale at 10am this morning and as soon as 10am Ticketmaster went full retard. I was not able to access the ticket request page for a full 15 minutes and then when I finally could they were all sold out. On the other hand, I logged in on my laptop from the side of the road with a wireless card at 11:55am and was able to get Pearl Jam tickets for the United Center in less than 5 minutes. Was I extremely lucky...yes. And it was slow, but the point is that any website is going to have problems when you have hundreds of crazy fanatics hitting refresh thousands of times at the same time on the same website. I'm sure if it was an easy thing to solve they would do it.
you are clearly not the reading for comprehension type
No it will just freeze up and not let you do ANYTHING for 15 minutes and then tell you that tickets are sold out. And I was logged in. The difference was also that when it finally started working the tickets were gone on ticketmaster and they were still available on tenclub. All I'm saying is that I had first hand experience with both websites today...Pearl Jam = 1; Ticketmaster = 0. It's definitely frustrating, but ticketmaster is certainly not perfect either.
i think i love you dude haha. you took the words RIGHT out of my mouth! wut the hell is all this lets release one show at a time and make our fans panic stuff? they got rid of the lottery for the 4 rows...killing a good thing. the instant sales are terrible since most of us dont live by a computer 24/7 and have jobs to do during the day.
you are dead wrong...it is not a "priviledge"...it is a service that we pay for. they keep increasing the membership dues but the service gets worse???
and what "X-mas" single???? it is may....
when a business doesnt give you the service you pay for, you are absolutely entitled to complain about it. just because you accept any crumb the 10club drops no matter how incompetent the service does not make you a better fan than the people who are expressing their frustration.
Good point. I think I'll go put on the 2008 Xmas single while I read the latest issue of Deep.
And I think a lot of people are used to the way the club performed in the past...email notifications - to all members - in advance of the ticket sales. I no longer see details of what a membership entitles one to, but I'm pretty certain advance notification of fan club ticket sales used to be one of the perks.
I personally still haven't received email notification for the Euro shows, nor have I received confirmation for my ticket purchases today. My last email from 10c was on 4/8, announcing the Ed solo tour...and reminding me that my dues needed to be paid up by 4/7.
