It's always strange to see that, except for Juventus' fans, our county is not happy at all for having that team in the finale. This is how it - sadly - works in Italy: when a team has been the strongest for a long time every other supporter hates it. No patriotism in soccer allowed.
Anyway, my husband is a huge Juve's fan and he's already terrified...

Kinda surprised by that. I figured all of Italy would be rooting for Juve. Kinda like how all of Canada roots for any Canadian team in the NHL playoffs.

No way. Maybe everyone would have rooted for a "weak" team, a team which hasn't won anything before (as my poor Parma, which is now so close to bankruptcy...), but teams with an important history in terms of winnings and with a large number of fans are never supported by the other fans, in any case. I'm 100% positive that each and every non-Juve fan will root for Barca in the final.
I think this is because we don't live soccer as a game, we always need to compete against each other and be the best. It's sad and bad but right now I don't see any glimmer for a change.

The interesting thing about this final is that both teams are now hoping in the "triplete" (cit. Mourinho).
Juve has already won the Serie A and the national cup last night, Barca won the Liga and will face Athletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey's final at the end of May.

Yeah, I guess I can see why most of Italy would root against a team like Juve since they are always so successful in Serie A. Either way, I hope it's a good game in the CL final. Part of me thinks Barca is just going to blow them away. That team is so damn good.

In a single soccer game anything could happen... see Germany last year at the World Cup, they definitely were a super strong team but no one expected what they did to Brazil and Argentina.
(I still don't believe Barca could lose this one)

I'm not supporting either of the teams in final, but I'll be rooting slightly more for Juve, but only because of maestro Pirlo :peace:
