May 1st...release date being set today?

So, in a recent interview Jeff said that the release date for the new album would be made known on May 1st (also known as- today). Let's speculate on whether or not this will come to fruition, because I'm excited and I want something to believe in. Also, perhaps we'll get an album title (although many are assuming that it will be titled Backspacer)?

    I doubt we will find anything out today. It was probably just a date that Jeff threw out there.

    Its only 6:28AM plenty of time for it to be announced.

    I'm pretty sure that's NOT what Jeff said. Didn't he say that by the beginning of May, they themselves should have an idea of when the album will be out - not us? I hope I'm wrong and you're right!

    I think in Jeffs interview, he said "they" should know by today about when it should be released. I took "they" to mean the band. With Mike and Ed performing this weekend, I would think they are out of Atlanta by now.

    How cool would it be if it was one of those situations like the Raconteurs? They finish the album today, and it comes out in a week from Tuesday?

    They could easily do that... we hear a "tweet" today, Tuesday the digital download and physical copy pre-order show up. That'd be great!

    Yes. That is more along the lines of what I understood anyway. It sounded like he meant that they would have a better picture of when it would be done...No actual date just a window.

    USA is funny becuase stuff comes out on Tuesday, becuase the charts start monday. In the UK stuff comes out Monday as the charts start sunday night. I was told something like that anyway ;p
